I received my check/cobra info today also. I agree with catnip about the vac. It was from May 1 to May 1. I have worked for a place that divdie and subtract until we got 1 or2 days but I would not count on it. Now we have our final check fron Chrysler we are totally done.   Sad

I seriously doubt that we would get any vaca pay. If I remember right it says something in the contract about May 1 to May 1, and since we are done now, that would knock us out of the running for anything like that. Keep in mind that I am just going on memory, so maybe ask someone that has access to that information directly. Brian or Tony could possibly have an answer for you. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
While it may be true that vacations run from May to May, the main question is did we fulfill the REQUIREMENTS for vacation. It is a Dept. of Labor LAW that if an employee has earned vacation, then that employee must be paid for the earned vacation REGARDLESS if the employee quits or is terminated by a company for any reason. The only requirement I heard we had to fill was to work 26 weeks before the next vacation period. Of course there may be more, which needs to be found out. Maybe BAP doesnt realize that some of us know what the laws say and figure we are too stupid to find out. By not giving us ETE's a weeks pay for vacation, Chrysler is saving somewhere in the neighborhood of 480,000 dollars. ALL the requirements need to be found out to see if we are indeed eligible for vacation pay.

We did not hit 26 weeks, thats over 4 months....and, if I'm not mistaken thats 26 work weeks. We went through this with part-timers the first year it came around.

I won't hold my breath.

My understanding is that the 30+ year folks got their vacation pay and PAA pay because they were retiring. The EVTEP's were quiting and ETE's were being terminated and as such, ineligible for their weeks of vacation pay and PAA regardless of how many weeks they worked. Not to worry though.....if Chrysler management(if you could call it that) misses an opportunity to stick it in your ass you can rest assured that some UAW official will step in and do it with a great big smile!......................Double your pleasure......Double your fun......Two bones in your ass instead of just one!!!! It's the UAW motto!

i know it sucks, but the language is in our National Contract. It states one of the requirements is being on roll as of May 1st. Being that you are not on roll and were terminated means you are not entitled to any VAC or PAA.  In order to get the retiree's vac pay that was negotiated on by international and as far as the VTEP people , that was also negotiated and finalized on the week of Feb 29th.  I don't see any ete getting vac pay and i have not heard of international fighting for it...

If i were to get fired before May 1st and i never got reinstated thru the grievance procedure, i would never get that money. Now if i did get back in say for example in Oct. they would then have to reinstate my VAC / PAA time along with the money that i would be entitled to.

I know its not going to help but hopefully it explains it a little.

I'm not sure what to believe in reference to the ETE's getting vacation checks. All I know is that Chrysler did do direct deposits in the credit union. I had to go reopen my account so I could get all my money. The credit union also heard something about ETEs getting vacation checks because we may have enough weeks in going from May 1 to March. If i get one, WOnderful!!!  If not, oh well.. I'm going back to school so I'm happy none the less.

Hope everything is starting to work out for all my friends Inside and outside the plant... TAKE CARE!!
