the ram that holds 2 upper dies on B line broke a rod and the entire upper ram fell. It didnt do any damage to the dies, but all dies made on B line have been moved over to A line which will be running 24 - 7. Word was last night they were thinking 4 months to fix |

Can 100% of the dies from B-line run on A-line too? There's rumor some can't and those will be outsourced just like before.
Can a 3rd shift on A-Line press alone keep with the parts needed to handle our current production? |

yes... 100% of the dies can be run on A line. the plan is to take a person off of 2nd shift and one off of 1st and put them on 3rd. as long as we dont have a hiccup, A line should be able to keep up running 24 - 7. The are not planning on shipping out any dies as of yet |

Hello everyone... It seems that another dilemma has struck Stamping. Unfortunately some Dies will have to be shipped to Twinsburg, and this includes the blank dies as well. People will be traveling to Twinsburg to insure quality and help with the transition.
The Design Engineer from the OEM arrived and expressed his astonishment about how the press failed and he had never seen a press fail in this manor. The Millwrights are currently trying to lower the ram so that we can ascertain the extent of damage, which we believe to be quite extensive.
Once we know whats wrong, the corporation will have to make some decisions, (1) take parts from another press in corporation and install at Belvidere, (2) manufacture new parts and install.
Option (1) 2-3 months
Option (2) 4-6 months
I'll post more information when available.

Is this press as rare as the other one that broke or is this one that can be replaced with relative ease\availability? |
