yessir...a bunch of us walked out wednesday night at 9 hours after management tried to force us 10 hours.  they can no longer force us 10 because launch for model changeover is over.  we received a letter from kim kuborn stating launch was over and were told by international that management cannot do this!   therefore, we left after our 9 hours was up.  last night (thursday) was back to 9 hours mandatory and they were asking volunteers to stay later.

The rumor on the chassis side was that BIW received a DIRECT ORDER to stay. Do you know anything about that?

i had heard a rumor on the dayshift side of receiving a direct order.  many of them also walked.  i for one did not receive a direct order.  in this case, according to international a direct order would not have mattered.  management was well aware they were breaking the contract and international was notified about this and was 110% behind us.  all it had become was a "pissing contest".  management got away with whatever they wanted when littlejohn was in office.  he let them break the contract so many times it was pathetic!  our new leadership as well as many of our members, including myself, were making a point and saying that if our union must obey the contract, then so does management.

Thought you would want to know they also put 4 of the union officials on notice. They would like them to have time off or be terminated. Ask at the union meeting Sunday.
