It is a damn shame how the company takes advantage of people and even worse how the union allows the corporation to do it.  From the beginning international knew that 119's had to be out by what Sept. 6th and instead of getting the transfer options out to St. Louis and beyond they just decide when it is convient to extend the agreement for 119's.  I for one am not proud to be a part of this....We have 240 - 119's and they make $14 an hour.  I thought only the "NON CORE" jobs were to earn the meager $14 and here we have them building the damn cars. Putting VALUE into the vehicle!!  I understand we need to give the opportunity for SENORITY employees from the company a chance to join us here at BAP. And I strongly agree. However there is a right way and a wrong way and our UNION is leading us down the wrong stretch of pavement.  This should have been addressed 2 or 3 weeks ago. The word should've gotten out.  They should already have a head count(or at least byFri. ) on who wants to transfer in and then figure out how many ( if any ) 119's they need to hire to run the plant.  We are truly blessed here at BAP being that we build SMALL cars.  It should give us a leg up with our local being able to negoitiate or press certain issues considering we are a vital asset to the company.  But I guess that instead of our Local Leadership jumping into their vehicles and heading to Detroit for a face to face with the Idiots who need to be corrected they're to busy sitting at the hall eating the Chinese food that we all chipped in for........Eat up Gentlemen, I am sick to my stomach! Mad

I feel sorry for alot of the 119 day people, they where given alot of false information after we where let go back on March 7th... For those that are single with no children, returning to work for 14$ an hour was a smart financial move. But for those that have a child credit for unemployment, you make far more than what you make at Chrysler, and even more so factoring in the amount of time people are sent home early and cost of gas to drive to work.. A friend of mine still working there said he is losing a 100$ a week from what he would be making sitting at home. Plus they just extended the unemployment 26 weeks.

Now they are extending there 119 day contract? On my 120th day I would be marching up to my committee man and having a grivence filed, because by the contract, on my 120th day, I am supposed to be hired in full time. I am glad I made the desision to stay home, Its been rough, I miss my friends at the plant, I miss getting out of the house, But I dont miss the BS being pulled inside that plant. If they ever offered me a FULLTIME posistion at 14$ I would strongly consider it, but never a temp position again.

The above 2 links have info that was discussed at the time if recall.

ResDcc: The link below is for a pdf. file from the red book containing contract highlights. Sadly I have not seen anywhere that even describes a TPT [N-5 and M-07] let alone guaranteeing a job after 119 days. If I missed something please let US know.

I know that prior to the new contrat, there was language that talked about 119 day employee's, and outlined the things that need to be in place for you to get hired in IF you worked on the 120th day. Not sure if that language made it over to the new contract or not, sadly, after I found out that the ETE's where not included in the contract, I really did not care what else was in it, so I never really looked further.

But I can say with 100% certainty that there was language that dealt with this before hand, and said language was provided to Brian Sullivan and Matt Franzen as well included in the failed lawsuit attempt.

Just because possibly you are not privy to the discussions ongoing and every step the barg committee are doing, doesnt mean the union is doing nothing.  Ask around, ask a steward, or call\go to the hall and ask for yourself

I don't know why anyone is surprised by the way the union treats TPT's.....the program has been going on for around 13yrs now and it keeps getting worse.

As soon as the everyone realizes that all the union cares about is helping out the worthless and their buddies, the faster the rest of us can go about just coming in and working.

I really had hopes that the new leadership would use our status as "Key" plant to move forward with some new ideas....guess all we got was a different record with the same song!

The Bargaining Committee consists of the following officers: President, Vice President, Recording-Secretary, Financial-Secretary and the Shop Committemen.

Our last Leadership always said that the International was cutting the deals. Lets see what we get now. Question

Has anyone thought about reinstating their benefits to there ETE status. Idea

IN SOLIDARITY,
Brother Chickenman
