Someone needs to tell Paul Harvey that this chapter of BAP's history book has been re-opened! So much for "THE REST OF THE STORY" |

I'm really surprised that no one has posted that they are in the process of calling people back. I received an automated phone call yesterday stating: If you are interested in coming back temporarily, 2nd shift only: may start up Monday 09/14, and be done by 11/08. If interested call: 815-547-2143, and leave the following info: Name, CID#, Phone #, and location you have worked. |

Just talked w/my neighbor who just recieved OFFICIAL word that 2nd has been postponed until November. I guess st louis people are coming in with a $5000 bonus if just temporary, or if permanent $50000 and get to stay. Anyone else recieved any info. I just work at syncreon and we have only been told about coming back Oct 5.

Im am now an outsider but if this RUMOR is true I will personally contact the media, goverment, and who ever else will listen. If a company that had to borrow BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep the doors open offers transfers from closed plants any type of money to move here should have to repay all funds back to the goverment. There are plenty of employees here in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin that have had to take buyouts or lost their job at Chrysler. If Chrysler can afford to pay transfers $5000 to $50000 to move, then they can afford to pay back the money they needed to stay open. After all the money the state of illinois gave Chrysler at the start of the Caliber only funded the transfers. All the current employees need to stop standing in one place and stand up and fight for your jobs. After all you could be next due to a transfer. >>>SAVE ILLINOIS JOBS<<< |

Amen to that!!! I completely agree, it is crap that they would be willing to pay people to come here - especially for a temporary job, that would effect those that are still hanging on at BAP. |

With a Union, this is the way it's setup. I hold nothing against the transfers, any of us would do the same thing if in their spot since it's in our contract. I myself am a transfer now too. I'm only a temp in Kenosha trying to keep from running out my 39 weeks of sub-pay, but I'm still a transfer and receiving extra pay for doing it. I'm doing it just to try and hang-on as long as I can, no different than any of the other transfers.
If the government wanted to mandate rules, they should have done that before giving the money away. |

But Brian, you are working there temporarily and will be returning to your job. I don't see the point in paying to transfer a bunch of people to stay here permanently, if they are only going to run the shift for temporary purposes is all that I was stating. It would have a huge impact on those that are still barely hanging on to their jobs at BAP. With temps, once they've run what ever numbers they needed, then we're out of there, no payment to move us, no benefits, no vacation, no effect on the current employees that are there..... |

I understand that the contract states that the company has to have any laid-off workers back on roll (even in a temp spot like mine and the above mentioned) before they can hire in the two-tier wage employees. It's this reason that I do see another buy-out being offered soon, maybe November.
Please correct me someone if I'm wrong. |
