Hi guys, just stoppin back in to see if anything has changed... almost sad to say.. it doesn't seem like it.

It has been 4 months since I took the buyout, and I can honestly say the ONLY thing I miss about that place is the people I worked with and this site to keep me informed.

I never realized how much less stress in my life I would have in leaving Chrysler. I have sinced moved to Naples Florida, bought a foreclosed house for 30K, and am working as a diver for a yacht service. Believe it or not, I make more money per hour than I did at chrysler. no insurance, but I enjoy the work, and I feel good when I have done a good job. I never felt that way at BAP.

Now I don't tell you all this to say "hey look at me and how freakin awesome I am" the only reason I bring it up is because like many of you I never could imagine a life without Chrysler. After 15 years, that's all I knew.

PLEASE, PLEASE... if they ever offer another buyout, consider the quality of life with a complete overhaul of what you have come to accept as your only option to keep on keepin on...

I hope you guys will allow me to stop by once and a while and check out what's going on, because I do care about the people that work for Chrysler. As for Chrysler itself... heh... Let's just say it was "almost" fun while it lasted... but MAN am I glad it's over.. heh

I wish you all the best as you continue with this company... and who knows? maybe I'll put in for Press' job once they let him go.... now that he is way behind on his mortgage payments on that big ole house... heh dunno if this is ok or not....

Hey, Welcome back.  Must be fun as a diver.  Post some pics.  Isn't the cost of living higher in Naples, FL?  For example: A salary of $50,000 in Naples, Florida could decrease to $15,844 in Rockford, Illinois.  (Cost of Living Comparison: Naples, Florida - Rockford, Illinois --http://www.bestplaces.net/col/?salary=50000&city1=51247625&city2=51765000

I honestly don't see any difference in the COL here.. if anything I've found I spend less money on things than I did in Rockford. also there is no state income tax here... I would guess they say that because houses down here are so expensive... If I could have moved my house down here it would be worth 3Xs as much as in rockford. If you were to buy my 3 bed 2 1/2 bath 2200 sq. ft. here in florida it would run you around 400K.. which i find to be crazyness....

as far as the diving is concerned.. it's not like you see in pics... all clear.. seeing 100 feet... I am usually under a boat either fixing holes or scraping barnicles off the prop.. and the vis is usually 5 feet cause most are in the channels. I did have a manatee come over to check out what I was doing.. which scared the livin crap-o-la outta me at first

p.s. I did find a subway that would give me the steak and cheese footlong sub for $5.... which in rockford is excluded for the 5 buck promo.. heh

Glad to hear things are going great for you.  Cool

I myself am not sure about my job with Chrysler, currently holding a temp job in Kenosha to keep from using my sub weeks.
