UAW Local 1248, which represents the bulk of Chrysler’s Mopar parts workers, has voted to accept the national labor agreement with Chrysler LLC, said Harvey Hawkins Jr., the local president.
Hawkins said his local, which represents about 900 people, approved the pact, with 564 voting to support and 89 against. During contract negotiations the UAW fought Chrysler’s attempt to win the ability to sell off or close parts of Mopar and Chrysler Transport. Blocking Chrysler’s advance was considered a win by the UAW. |
