is there no bible quote that tells you to fight for whats right?

Hi, OldSchool.  I'll try to help you out with that one.  I assume this verse is concerning actual fighting because of the “resisted unto blood” part.  Hebrews 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Although David was actually a great warrior, I like this verse for when I am doing my “fighting” with my fingers typing on my computer.  Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:  Smile

I hope someday to be able to say, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" 2 Timothy 4:7

the fight of right vs. wrong, are we suppose to stop that fight because its the end times? the bible quotes used in this post to me say just sit back and do nothing, its the end times and you can't change any thing.

i don't know much about the bible but i do know that only god knows when the end is. i'm sorry but i can't see how you guys can use these bible quotes to not take any action against the evil men in our government regardless if its the end times or not.

i believe that this country is a gift from god and the constitution is the laws that guarantees the freedom god gave all of us. i see any attack that would take the constitution or this country from us as an attack on god and feel we must do what every we can to stop this attack on god.

we have more to fear from members in our government then jihad. they have you living in blind fear of the bogeyman while they destroy america and crush the constitution. eveil members in our government have done more to destroy our freedoms then any jihad could have ever done.

No, we cannot just sit back and do nothing.  We are very close to the Rapture.  My faith and family come before my freedom.  I am a very opinionated Christian woman.  That is 2 reasons Muslim extremist would want me dead.  There are so many things to fight for right now; because Satan knows he has very little time left.  You are correct.  Even Americans have joined with Satan against us.  but, we must fight 'till the death.  In my  reply above, I didn't quote the verses before and after my hopefully final statement.  I quote them now.

2 Timothy 4:6-8 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

This is why my religious freedom comes first.

Luke 19:13 "And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy, ([Pragmateusasthe] - 'Negociate,' 'do business,' with the resources entrusted to you) Till I come.

We are to do what we can to be the salt (preservative) and light (revealers) in our generation.  In our government of the people, we are to be active in seeing that the most righteous (or sometimes the least wicked) people are in office.  We may be a minority, but we are often able to tip the balance if we are diligent and steadfast.

The Bible nowhere encourages us to be complacent, but it does tell us certain things will occur regardless.  "For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great miraculous signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones.  See, I have warned you."  Jesus Christ   Matthew 24:24-25

I like the old saying "Preach the Gospel.  If neccessary, use words."  Actions speak loudest.

As I stated in another topic, I believe in supporting Israel to continue receiving God’s blessings and I believe both Jews and Christians are the enemy of Muslim extremist.  For those that don’t think that is a good enough reason; I will list two more references.

Quote:
1 Peter 2:13-16 “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.  For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.”
Romans 13:1-3 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:”

God has placed our President in the place of authority in America.  As Ron Paul has correctly pointed out, our congressional wimps surrendered their power to him concerning the war.  Like it or not, we must obey God’s command to submit to his authority.

I have been questioning President Bush’s wisdom, among other things, his support of L.O.S.T.  Then I remember a message preached at our church by an evangelist.  He told us he doesn’t always agree with God.  But when he disagrees he must remember that, “God is God, I’m man.  He is right, I’m wrong.”
Quote:
Isaiah 55:6-9 “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Iraq, Afghan War Costs Are $1.6 Trillion
Nov 13 10:17 AM US/Eastern
By JEANNINE AVERSA
AP Economics Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - The economic costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are estimated to total $1.6 trillion—roughly double the amount the White House has requested thus far, according to a new report by Congress' Joint Economic Committee.

The report, obtained by The Associated Press and scheduled to be released Tuesday, attempted to put a price tag on the two conflicts, including "hidden" costs such as interest payments on the money borrowed to pay for the wars, lost investment, the expense of long- term health care for injured veterans and the cost of oil market disruptions.

The $1.6 trillion figure, for the period from 2002 to 2008, translates into a cost of $20,900 for a family of four, the report said. The Bush administration has requested $804 billion for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined, the report stated.

For the Iraq war only, total economic costs were estimated at $1.3 trillion for the period from 2002 to 2008. That would cost a family of four $16,500, the report said.

Future economic costs would be even greater. The report estimated that both wars would cost $3.5 trillion between 2003 and 2017. Under that scenario, it would cost a family of four $46,400, the report said.

Oil prices have surged since the start of the war, from about $37 a barrel to well over $90 a barrel in recent weeks, the report said. "Consistent disruptions from the war have affected oil prices," although the Iraq war is not responsible for all of the increase in oil prices, the report said.

Still, the report estimated that high oil prices have hit U.S. consumers in the pocket, transferring "approximately $124 billion from U.S. oil consumers to foreign (oil) producers" from 2003 to 2008, the report said.

High oil prices can slow overall economic growth if that chills spending and investment by consumers and businesses. At the same time, high oil prices can spread inflation throughout the economy if companies decide to boost the prices of lots of other goods and services.

The report comes as the House prepares to vote this week on another effort by Democrats to set a deadline for withdrawing troops from Iraq as a condition for providing another $50 billion for the war.

"What this report makes crystal clear is that the cost to our country in lives lost and dollars spent is tragically unacceptable," said Joint Economic Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., in a statement prepared to accompany the report's release.
