|
|
I have received comments/pm's from many employees at different plants about BAPs ETE's and said this opened their eyes up to what this might cause at their plant if offered.
I know I have previously said I didn't want an ETE section on the board, because I didn't want to divide them from us. Although, we all see ETE's end nearing. Now if any of those ETE's will still have a job as a non-core full-time employees, nobody is sure just yet. What we do know is that the term ETE will always be remembered at BAP.
At this time, I feel it would be good to setup a section History of an ETE at BAP. I don't want this history or people to be so easily forgotten. Threads like this one from Robert Stacy 2nd shift Paint Department would make a GREAT start to the section.

What do all of you think? |

Great idea, Brian! ETEs are family. Family history is important. Thank you, Robert, for sharing your thoughts. |

Are the ete's even being offered the non-core jobs? I think we should band together and get an online petition started and sent to the International union to get those jobs filled with our part time members. I realize it is lower wages but we need to save our brothers & Sisters by any means possible. It has to start somewhere.

They are not sure yet how they are going to bump team leaders or the rest of the plant. There has been word of more transfers and rumors of when the current transfers will get their seniority back for bumping rights. We don't even know what jobs are considered non-core. All of this has to be worked out before they can even say what year seniority will hold a job in the plant with two shifts.
At this point, we are not getting any information because they don't have the puzzle pieces (info from international & company) to put the puzzle together.
It's a REAL MESS! |

I would like to point out that any bumping, transfers, or even offering ETE's a chance at noncore jobs hangs in the balance on how many seniority employees take buyouts. Even if enough employees take the buyouts we need to remember that 4 other plants are losing shifts and those employees have first rights to any opening within Chrysler LLC. Please correct me if Im wrong. From my point of view the ETE's will not see any offers for a period of time. I hope Im wrong. At $14.50 an hour its still a foot in the door for us and there is not many jobs in the Rockford area that will start you out at that rate.....I WOULD TAKE THE NONCORE. |

The international reps at the noon meeting made it clear that any Transfer who filed a 67C to move to Belvidere, will not at any time receive their seniority.
Don't make the mistake a second time, or let your brothers and sisters do it either. |
