How about starting a union label/ american made section. We all are interested in this and all should be living it. Some dont watch but need a place to see what is all out there for their choices. Might be fun.

How about if we actually generated some UAWTALK.COM shirts & sweaters...hats, I think that would be pretty cool to represent for 1268, what do you think on that Brian? |

I'd wear one, would you lokeedone? I know from seeing chryslerguy55's graphic artwork that he's the man for that job, but the problem would be finding a place to get TRUE union label shirts. I know www.CafePress.com has a nice setup for no stock ordering of shirts anywhere in the US, but I bet all of their shirts are not union label. We should look in to it and see if they sell union label or not, maybe I'm wrong about them. I did find UAW stuff for sale here:
http://www.cafepress.com/buy/uaw/-/cfpt2_/copt_/cfpt_/source_searchBox/x_0/y_0
I hope these items are printed on union label products and if not
chryslerguy55 - To be safe, the graphic would not have the UAW logo. I don't want to hear them cry about the use of a logo we the membership pay for and all partly own. People don't need to see the logo anyway, most know just by seeing the three letters UAW what it stands for. |

Yes I would wear one providing I can get a shirt for a fat guy like myself, lol! 4 or 5xl?? Hey, I like it loose, so "yes" I would wear them and represent, nothing wrong with that, and I don't see the reason why we couldn't put more than "UAW" on the shirts...just my thought.... |

I've spoke with James Scott before about the UAW logo on shirts and a friend of his received some problems due to the fact it's a registered trademark. James can fill us in more on it. |

Trademark?? We are part of that trademark, how come we can't use it? Well how about just the site name for shirts and things?? "UAWTALK.COM"?? We can't get into any trouble using that now can we?? |

Sorry, lokeedone and I got a bit off topic in your thread.
I did find some information on our locals website that some might not have seen before. It was put there by our Local 1268's Union Label Committee!!! Are there more than these that you can think of to add to the list?
Here's the link to it:

see the uaw logo is a trade mark. the issue here is the uaw makes money from its logo = be it hats shirts coats etc etc. i will give you an example we at st louis ram plant have a union store that sells shirts hats etc etc . now if i wanted to make the same shirts with uaw logo on it with the lets say uaw at top with the UAW logo on it even if it is union made shirts they would not stand for it trust me. now if i used the shirts lets say just saying UAW at top no logo with the site www.slpnrams.com they can't do nothing. they probably wont like it but im not using there logo. UAW can mean many things = united against workers = united anal workers hehe . use like ummm UAW BIG LETTERS and below www.uawtalk.com. why spend money on something that you might not be able to use. |
