Since this is the politics and religion section, I thought I would start a topic where we can post information and discussions pertaining to this subject. I have been seeing so much in the news lately that shows how close we are to the rapture and “end times”. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Ten schoolchildren in the United Kingdom are being tracked by RFID chips in their school uniforms as part of a pilot program.
If the program proves successful as a way to hasten registration, simplify data entry for the school's behavioral reporting system, and ensure attendance, Trevor Darnborough, whose company, Darnbro, filed for a patent on securing RFID tags to clothing, hopes other schools will be interested, according to the Doncaster Free Press.
The chipped children are enrolled at Hungerhill School in Edenthorpe, England, a secondary school for ages 11 to 16.
David Clouter, a parent and founder of Leave Them Kids Alone, a children's advocacy group, condemned the plan. "With pupils being fingerprinted and now this it seems we are treating children in a way that we have traditionally treated criminals," he told the Doncaster Free Press.
"The system is not intrusive to the pupil in the slightest," Hungerhill teacher Graham Wakeling told the Doncaster Free Press. He also said that all the patents of the children in the trial supported the tracking effort.
Video surveillance is already commonplace in the United Kingdom, and a growing number of schoolchildren are fingerprinted for administrative and security reasons. Since 2001, nearly 6,000 pupils have been fingerprinted in the United Kingdom, the Daily Mail reported earlier this month, with 20 new schools embracing the practice every week.
In a blog post about the report, security expert Bruce Schneier quipped, "So now it's easy to cut class; just ask someone to carry your shirt around the building while you're elsewhere."
I guess the last sentence is why if the chip is the mark of the beast it would be implanted in the forehead or hand. 2 Peter 3:9-10 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
Revelation 22:17-21 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
I probably should have given some background information incase there is someone out there that has no idea what I am talking about. I should inform you all that I did not go to college. I base my information on decades of listening to good preaching several times a week, reading many books, and my own personal Bible study. If my memory serves me right; in the Christian belief the word “Rapture” means being “caught up” or “raised” to heaven to be with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Some believe this will be pre-tribulation, some mid-tribulation, and others post-tribulation. (Personally, I believe it will be pre-trib.) The great tribulation is the 7 year period God allows the antichrist to rule the world. At the end of the 7 years there will be the battle of Armageddon when Christ wins and takes complete control. I will start by listing a few verses pertaining to the rapture.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Revelation 4:1-2 “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.”
I will do my best to work on some verses pertaining to what “signs” we should be watching for in the near future. For those that can’t wait, a good place to start is Matthew chapter 24.

When shall these things be?
I left verse numbers in and did not knowingly delete any words. I tried to separate it somewhat to point out some of the signs. FYI the translators of the King James Version put words that were not in the original manuscripts in italics. I try to read it without those added words to get a clearer idea of what the original manuscripts actually said. At times those added words make it clearer. Other times I wish they would have left them out because it is clear enough and sometimes clearer without them. But, at least they were honest when they put in additions.
Matthew 24:3-51 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
• 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

• but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
• 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away,
• and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
• Luke 17:22-30 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it…
• 25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation…
• 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
I did leave out some of the things in Luke 17 that were already covered in Matthew 24.
2 Timothy 3:1-17 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be
• lovers of their own selves,
• covetous,
• boasters,
• proud,
• blasphemers,
• disobedient to parents,
• unthankful,
• unholy,

• lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 4:1-4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
• 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
• but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
• 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
There are other reference pertaining to the Rapture, end times, the tribulation period, and the actual return of Christ. I will try to post more as soon as I can remember them and find them. Thanks, Mike! Don’t you just love how God works! I was hoping for time to look something up on a certain subject. Of course, I had to have my own personal time in prayer and Bible reading first. Isn’t it ironic that what I read today was Mark 13? God hit me over the head with Mark 13:11 “…take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.” I had a serious auto accident in Feb. 1994 and my memory hasn’t been the same since. (I would say my mind, but my husband keeps telling me it never was all there anyway. lol) I enjoy this forum because it allows me time to search for references when I remember bits of verses. I am so thankful that I heeded God’s advice and am able to at least have those partial memories because they are “hid in mine heart.” Psalms 119:10-12 “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.” I found this at the site you recommended. It goes along with the prophecy in Matthew 24:6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars…”

Mark 13:13 “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake…”
My Saviour Jesus Christ is talking to the disciples who were both Jews and saved, born again, “radical” Christians when He shared the prophecy in Mark 13:13. Some people proclaim to be a Christian because they believe in God. Just believing does not make one a Christian because, even the devils believe in God and they at least have sense enough to tremble. James 2:19 “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” Christians were called Christians in Antioch because they had repented of their sins, accepted Christ in their hearts, and were acting like Christ. Radical Islamists cry “Death to America!” because America has been termed a “Christian Country.” But, they are not the only ones that hate true Christians. Jesus warned us this would come. John 15:18-21 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.” He not only warned us, He told us to remember that He warned us. John 16:1-4 “These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.” True born again Christians are still being put out of synagogues and some so called “Christian churches”.

I looked up “self love” in a dictionary which defined it as “love of self; self-conceit or selfishness”. That sure is a fitting description of our current times. We are currently living in a me generation.
