I have been taught to vote for Biblical values and morals and let God take care of my wallet. Although I disagree with Arrow’s choice for President, I agree with this part of his comment
Quote:
Now, not only will I encourage people to vote who I believe is the best candidate, I will argue till I am blue in the face that I am right in whom I have chosen. WHY?
Because I work my southside off to do the research to be RIGHT. Now, that does not make me perfect, but when I KNOW I am right, I will do everything in my power to persuade, debate, and even argue my position in hopes that I may persuade others to my way of thinking.
After much searching, I have decided Mike Huckabee’s views on the issues are closest to mine. Muslim extremist have been yelling “Death to America” for decades. http://www.danielpipes.org/article/460 America is engaged in a “holy war” whether we like it or not. Jihad has been declared by Muslim extremist. According to m-w.com jihad means “1: a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty; also : a personal struggle in devotion to Islam especially involving spiritual discipline 2: a crusade for a principle or belief” I believe there are some things in life worth fighting for; especially faith, family, and the freedom we still enjoy in the best country in the world. Notice at the very top of Mike Huckabee’s website the words “Faith Family Freedom” www.mikehuckabee.com
I think Huckabee is the one who espouses the most Biblically based positions on the issues of all who are running. Not that others aren't also, but he seems to be the boldest and most forthright of them all.

I agree! He also came from very humble beginnings. His dad was a mechanic. He has a love for working class Americans. This video is titled, “Mike Huckabee Talks Health Care on Hardball”. He also speaks out against pay cuts for workers and big bonuses for CEOs. With the recent contract changes, we can all relate to this. (3 minutes 45 seconds)
By the way, while I am here, I did the research on Huckabee and the CFR. You are correct in that there is no specific mention of him being a "member" of the CFR. But, in politics, a man is judged by the company he keeps. If he surrounds himself with CFR members, speaks at their events, condones their policies, what is the real difference?
(sorry the link didn't come up on top for me to copy and paste but it was on the one on Mormons)
As I stated on the topic about Ron Paul,
Speaking somewhere does not necessarily mean one is a member. Many preachers have spoken to groups they do not agree with; oftentimes hoping to convert a few listeners. If they would speak only to those that believe the same as they do they are “Preaching to the choir.” Sometimes sites want their people to know who opposes their views. I believe that is why some candidates refuse to answer questions by people printing information that opposes their views. Case in point, how many pro-life candidates answer family planning questions and how many pro-choice candidates answer right to life questions?
According to the Bible, God blessed Abram (Abraham) That blessing was passed down to his son Isaac and then to Isaac’s son, Jacob. Jacob’s name was later changed to Israel. Genesis 12:1-3 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram …And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 17:19 “And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.” Genesis 27:29-30 “…cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee. And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob...” Genesis 32:27-28 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
God promised blessings to those that bless Israel and coursings to those that curse Israel. Therefore, America has been blessed because of our continued support of Israel. It is because of America’s support of Israel that the Muslim countries hate us and have declared a holy war (Jihad) against both their enemy, Israel, and their supporters, us. Because Ron Paul isn’t willing to continue fighting the war that has been declared against us, I cannot support him. I believe Mike Huckabee is willing to take a stand against the UN and the one world government it represents.
I know I will never find a candidate that I will totally agree with on every issue. My vote goes first and foremost to Biblical issues. Support of Israel is to me a Biblical issue. Fighting those that threaten my freedom of religion is a priority. Mike Huckabee supports the issues which are most important to me. We even agree on some of the less important ones.
I did read the bio at the CFR website.
Quote:
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has centered his campaign on issues of importance to his socially conservative base, including opposition to abortion and gay marriage. Those views, combined with Huckabee’s past as a Baptist minister, could boost support among evangelical Christians…
Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
Huckabee, who has taken nine trips to Israel in past 35 years, calls himself a “steadfast supporter” of Israel. On his campaign site, Huckabee pledges that as president, he would “ensure that Israel has access to the state-of-the-art weapons and technology she needs to defend herself from those who seek her annihilation.”
Why The Media Likes Mike Huckabee So Much: He Is A Rick Warren Worker!
Posted by healtheland on July 13th, 2007
Now IndependentConservative tried to warn me against supporting Mike Huckabee, but I didn’t listen! As it was, I replaced Huckabee with Ron Paul as the guy that I was supporting for now, because I saw no evidence that Huckabee would really take on our leviathan government (and plenty of evidence that Huckabee would continue the corporate welfare - social program - state financing of the church agenda that is supported not only by the religious right, but also the religious left … remember Bill Clinton started funding “midnight basketball”, “gun buybacks” - and if I am correct condom and drug needle giveaways - at churches as part of his “moderate agenda”, and Clinton also was a supporter of and signed the first faith - based programs bill as well). So once I saw that the state would grow and assert more power over the church under Huckabee, I pretty much stopped backing him, and was basically using him to show the hypocrisy of the Christian right for wanting to back people like Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, etc. instead of a former minister. Well, that criticism is still correct, but according to an excellent comment by James Sundquist, who appears to represent a most excellent http://www.abrahamic-faith.com site, Huckabee is one of the growing numbers of Southern Baptists that have fallen for the Rick Warren scam (that denominaton is now facing an even bigger threat … the emergent church). I was wondering why the media was so complimentary of Huckabee. Please recall that they spent the 1990s claiming that the Southern Baptist Convention was one of the biggest internal threats that this country was facing. I was shocked that they were going around claiming that the evolution - denying “Jesus Christ is the only way” Baptist preacher from Arkansas was “winning the debates hands down” and giving him so much praise when in every other context fundamentalist and evangelical Christianity is portrayed as a great evil threat to the future of our nation and world peace itself. Well this explains it! Rick Warren is a Council On Foreign Relations member, whose goal is to create a global society free of distinctions and divisions created by race, class, politics, nationality, and RELIGION. It was clear that George Bush was one of these guys (like like his father and Bill Clinton) when he professed that Islam was “a religion of peace” and claimed that the Muslim moon cult god is the same as the Christian God. Warren is clearly part of this same agenda by promoting the trend where churches stop dealing with things that might offend sinners (such as the Bible or the message of the cross or repentance of sin and living holy) and replace it with psychology. That way, Jesus Christ goes from being God to a moral teacher, and it becomes far easier for the masses to accept it (and it does not even require them abandoning their prior religions). Since Warren is a Council on Foreign Relations guy, if Huckabee is a Warren guy then Huckabee is a CFR guy too. Which of course means that I have now gone from “kinda sorta” supporting Huckabee to adding him to my list of people like McCain, Giuliani, and Romney (and of course all Democrats in the race) that I am actively opposing. I should have known something was up when a very liberal MSNBC/Newsweek writer recommended Huckabee for the very vital Health and Human Services cabinent post (which would be the leading dispenser of “faith - based” state funds to churches)! Here are James Sundquist’s statement on the EXTENSIVE Warren - Huckabee ties, and please note that the CFR media (i.e. Time Magazine) is aware of them:
“Our church in Little Rock is very similar to Rick Warren’s. We’ve gone from 25 members to about 5,000 in eight years. Our focus has been to minister to people who were otherwise neglected. We built a ministry center before we even had a sanctuary. We held our services in warehouses until a year or two ago.” The center contains a range of faith-based initiatives: welfare to work, job training, programs for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, a food bank. “We are a multicultural, multiracial congregation, with rich and poor,” Huckabee says. “I play the bass in the Praise band.” SOURCE: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1599708,00.html
It is a lot like Rick Warren’s church all right. Here is his church’s website:
which promotes Warren’s Celebrate Recovery, won Warren’s Church Health Award:
“Since 1999, Purpose-Driven ministries have honored four to six churches each year that have shown excellence in adapting the Purpose-Driven paradigm to their congregation. With thousands of churches having participated in the “40 Days of Purpose” discipleship program in recent months, Purpose-Driven decided to honor 79 churches this year. Each church received a check for $1,000.
The Southern Baptist congregations receiving a 2004 Church Health Award were:
Bay Area Fellowship, Corpus Christi, Texas
Brookwood Community Church, Greenville, S.C.
Centro Familiar Cristiano Betesda, Orange, Calif.
The Church at Rock Creek, Little Rock, Ark.”

(Pastor Bob DeWaay wrote a brilliant expose on this Purpose-Driven Church Health Awards in his book on Rick Warren)
And here is a quote from Huckabee’s teaching pastor Greg Kirskey’s sermon entitled Fire Extinguisher…available on the church website:
“No human emotion poses a greater threat to our health and happiness than fear.”
And this is posted by Huckabee’s Senior Pastor Mark Evans:
” Mark Evans is the founder and Senior Pastor of The Church at Rock Creek. Understanding that many people don’t go to church because it is boring and irrelevant, Mark began Rock Creek in 1995. Believing that people really do matter to God, Rock Creek has grown from 25 people to over 5,000 attending the weekend services. Rock Creek was featured in Church Growth magazine’s list of “The 100 Fastest Growing Churches in America.”
The community-focused ministries at Rock Creek – a hands on computer lab, an employment training agency, a food bank, and a car repair ministry – led President Bush to select The Church at Rock Creek as the backdrop for a discussion about the role faith-based organizations play in changing the landscape of America.
And of course, RIck Warren’s PEACE Plan and Discovery Classes:
DISCOVER YOUR MISSION
The Hall of Fame Class is the fourth class in Rock Creek’s Life Development Process. In this class you will learn how to connect other people to God by using your story of how He has worked in your life. You will also be introduced to the P.E.A.C.E. Plan, a radical missions approach that is a key part of how Rock Creek does missions. In addition, we will help you develop and execute your own personal mission statement.
THE P.E.A.C.E. PLAN
Rock Creek does missions through a radical new strategy called the P.E.A.C.E. Plan. Through P.E.A.C.E. your small group will become equipped to address the world’s five global giants: spiritual lostness, corrupt leadership, poverty, disease and lack of education.
The P.E.A.C.E. plan is designed to mobilize ordinary church members to do normal tasks that can change the world. Everyone can participate through personal, local, and global P.E.A.C.E. projects. God can and will use you and our missions team is here to help you get started.
If you are not ready to go overseas, there are personal and local dimensions to this strategy that do not require any travel at all. Rock Creek’s Hall of Fame Class prepares you to live out the P.E.A.C.E. Plan.
I've never known the mainstream media to like any Republican, let alone Mike Huckabee. The ones they seem to tolerate the best are Guliani, Romney & McCain.
James Sundquist sounds like another dirt slinging supporter of Ron Paul
no dirt just people looking for the truth. if huckabee is a member of the cfr then that means he can not be trusted to obey the constitution. one thing about a ron paul supporter, we have had enough of the criminals not obeying the constitution.
we are against globalism, the cfr and a few other groups that are behind the push to turn america into the north american union and turn over power of our government to the united nation.
i do not fear jihad as most of you do, i fear people in our government striping us of our constitution. you want to protect your self from jihad then start by protecting the constitution.
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
Thomas Jefferson
Ron Paul has consistently advocated that the federal government not be involved in citizens' everyday lives. For instance, he believes that prayer in public schools should neither be prohibited nor mandated at the federal or state level.
In a December 2003 article entitled "Christmas in Secular America", Paul wrote, "The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers. On the contrary, our Founders’ political views were strongly informed by their religious beliefs. Certainly the drafters of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, both replete with references to God, would be aghast at the federal government’s hostility to religion. The establishment clause of the First Amendment was simply intended to forbid the creation of an official state church like the Church of England, not to drive religion out of public life. The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance. Throughout our nation’s history, churches have done what no government can ever do, namely teach morality and civility. Moral and civil individuals are largely governed by their own sense of right and wrong, and hence have little need for external government. This is the real reason the collectivist Left hates religion: Churches as institutions compete with the state for the people’s allegiance, and many devout people put their faith in God before putting their faith in the state. Knowing this, the secularists wage an ongoing war against religion, chipping away bit by bit at our nation’s Christian heritage. Christmas itself may soon be a casualty of that war."
In 2005, Paul introduced the We the People Act, which would have removed "any claim involving the laws, regulations, or policies of any State or unit of local government relating to the free exercise or establishment of religion" from the jurisdiction of federal courts. If made law, this provision would permit state, county, and local governments to decide whether to allow displays of religious text and imagery.
Paul has sponsored a Constitutional amendment which would allow students to pray privately in public schools, but would not allow anyone to be forced to pray against their will or allow the state to compose any type of prayer or officially sanction any prayer to be said in schools.
Quote:
Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul said today that he could see no possible reason to ever launch military action or initiate a war, vowing instead to battle efforts he said are undermining the individual liberties of people in America. In an interview with Washingtonpost.com's PostTalk program, the Texas congressman said he could see "no reason" to justify military action if he were elected president…Paul has been intensely opposed to the war in Iraq and to a potential attack against Iran during his campaign for the presidency. During this week's GOP debate in Dearborn, Mich., he once again became red-faced as he blasted the Middle East war effort.
I have been doing more research on Ron Paul and the issues during which I found the above story. I do agree with Ron Paul that Congress should have the backbone to do their job and declare war; as I stated in a previous post. I have always heard, “The best defense is a good offense.” I believe I was right the first time. Ron Paul is a pacifist that is weak on security. He “said he could see “no reason” to justify military action.” What is he planning to do? Just wait for them to take over our country? I have 5 married children (totaling10 including their spouses) and 18 grandchildren that I want protected from people who want to kill Americans. Let’s refresh our memories a little. What about “Death to America” attacks that happened decades ago Question Doesn’t anyone else remember the Iran hostage crisis of 1979 or the bombings of U.S. embassies and military sites, plane hijackings, etc.? Unless I had my head buried in the sand; there is no way I could vote for this man!
"When Republicans sell out to the Chinese, or sell out to anybody, we set ourselves up to get beat next year." -- Mike Huckabee
Quote:
Huckabee for several weeks has been hitting hard on the issue of restoring American sovereignty and resisting the advance of United Nations-led global government…“Any federal judge who uses some international law as a precedent to make a court decision ought to be impeached,” he said to strong applause… Huckabee’s success is due, in part, to adopting the Reagan approach to national security matters… Huckabee sees the Law of the Sea Treaty as a massive giveaway of U.S. sovereignty and resources that must be stopped. This was Reagan’s position. Reagan refused to sign it as president… Another candidate, Rep. Ron Paul, has denounced the Law of the Sea Treaty… But his call for a quick withdrawal from Iraq and his tendency to blame U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East for the Islamic terrorist threat to America has hurt him with many conservatives. By contrast, Huckabee denounces “Islamo-fascism” and says “we cannot have the naïve idea that if we leave them alone, they will leave us alone. That will get us killed.”… By opposing this treaty, Huckabee is demonstrating that he has Reagan’s vision. Conservatives are taking note and rallying to his cause. The media will be forced to take notice eventually.
Huckabee's progress is also due to his considerable talents as a campaigner and his consistently conservative views on abortion, gay marriage and gun ownership, in contrast to the shifting positions of Giuliani and Romney. He's playing up his 10 years of executive experience as governor of Arkansas, while offering a radical remedy to voters fed up with the current tax system: Get rid of the federal income tax and replace it with a national sales tax. His approach to health care reform emphasizes prevention and better nutrition to reduce the crushing cost of chronic diseases, which account for the vast proportion of medical spending. "We're out there treating snakebites when we ought to be killing some snakes," says Huckabee, who shed more than 100 pounds a few years ago after he was diagnosed with diabetes…
He uses humor and an easy-going manner to woo voters who say they want an end to slash-and-burn politics in Washington. But he also has an answer for those who doubt his viability and say they're looking, above all, for a Republican who can beat Hillary Clinton. "Nobody knows her better than me," he says, boasting that he defeated "the Clinton political machine" four times in Arkansas governor's races.
Huckabee has few paid staff members in the state and is the only Republican contender who hasn't aired campaign commercials, but he's already looking beyond the caucuses, which typically winnow a large field of candidates.
