one god and 1000 religions that say they have the correct path to him. i'm still waiting for god to show me my path and i ask him almost every day. granny hit me with a bible quote that stop me dead in my tracks the other day.

Quote:
Psalms 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

if we are not suppose to put confidence in man, how can we put confidence in our selfs? this quote left me with the feeling of doubt and left me wondering if any thing anyone has every told us is true. every thing we know was passed to us by man, so how much do we really know?

That is why I rely so much on what God says in His Word. Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.  Acts 27:25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Practically every thing I read I think, "What does God say about that?"  I put no confidence in myself!  But, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13

As I stated before,

I had a serious auto accident in Feb. 1994 and my memory hasn’t been the same since.  (I would say my mind, but my husband keeps telling me it never was all there anyway.  lol)  I enjoy this forum because it allows me time to search for references when I remember bits of verses.  I am so thankful that I heeded God’s advice and am able to at least have those partial memories because they are “hid in mine heart.”  Psalms 119:10-12 “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.  Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.”

I will not claim to have all the answers.  But, I am always willing to share what my Saviour, Jesus Christ, has done for me.

Granny, you misunderstood what I said.  The man in the video is the one who said that "no man can stand against us."  He is just a man himself.  His aggrandizement was a display of arrogance.

Your scriptures would not apply in this case as I was not speaking of any man not being able to stand against the Savior.  Of course no man can stand against the Savior.  My point was that Mr. Obvious would not, dare not say that to the Savior.

First of all, I am sorry about the misunderstanding.  Secondly, I will not attempt to compete with your religious credentials.  My formal education consists of dropping out of high school at the age of 16 after finishing the 10th grade.  Although, I did buy a GED study guide to obtain my GED.

Satan was the one that caused all the different religions and the different versions of the Bible.  I stand firmly on the Authorized King James Version, which is closest to the original Greek Textus Receptus that originated in Antioch.  Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Many people complain about the Bible contradicting itself.  The contractions people find in the AKJV are its conflict with their life.  Evangelist Mark McGaughey said that he doesn’t agree with God all the time.  But, when they disagree he says, “God is God and I’m man.  He’s right and I am wrong.”

If you don’t mind, I will reply to some of the rest of your comment on my "Mike Huckabee for President" post since it deals more with that issue.
