Choosing a favorite Scripture Verse is like choosing a favorite child, but I am especially fond of this passage:

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26 NIV

At first Jesus references us physically ("...even though he dies..."). Then He references us spiritually ("...will never die.").

Next to John 3:16, this has to be one of the most doctrinally laden sayings in the NT.

Romans 5:8 (KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 KJV

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." Acts 17:30-31 KJV

Here are 2 verses dealing with giving thanks

Psalms 106:1 (KJV) Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 69:30 (KJV) I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Here are some NT verses:

2 Cor 9:11
"Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God."

Phil 4:6
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Col 2:7
"Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."

Col 4:2
"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving..."

1 Tim 4:4
"For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving..."
