On what planet is Islam a "peaceful religion," like President Bush likes to call it?
I have to believe there are two types of Muslims. Otherwise why would there be such a difference in beliefs that would cause Muslims to kill each other if they don't convert to the Jihadist form? I do know one of my sons works near a Muslim employee at Chrysler. The (I assume peaceful ) Muslim asked my son, the Christian, how he would feel if someone tried changing his Bible. My son replied that he knows how he feels because they already have changed it into many different versions.
I believe in fighting for faith, family, and freedom. and will not back down when pushed in a corner. But, I know how the peaceful Muslims feel when "extremist" blacken the name of their religion. Case in point: I am a Baptist but there is an extremist group of Baptist that protest at funerals of American heroes trying to promote hatred against homosexuals. I do not agree with the homosexual lifestyle because it goes against the Bible. But, I have nothing against the people themselves. God loves all sinners regardless of our sin. (Romans 5:8 (KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.) If we don't get things right with Him, it is His job to judge, not others. Our job is to let others know there is a God that will judge them and He knows ALL about each and every one of us. There won't be any evidence that isn't included in that trial. Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV) And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great,stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
So, if someone else declares war against America we have to wait for wusses in Congress to vote as to whether or not we are willing to defend our country?
sorry my bad granny it was oct 9th debate.
yes its constitutional law granny.
i tryed to find the video with all 3 of them on it but i could only find the video of paul and romney.
here is what huckabee said
Governor Huckabee, same question. Do you need Congress to approve such an action?
HUCKABEE: A president has to whatever is necessary to protect the American people. If we think Iran is building nuclear capacity that could be used against us in any way, including selling some of the nuclear capacity to some other terrorist group, then, yes, we have a right...
MATTHEWS: Without going to Congress?
HUCKABEE: And I would do it in a heartbeat.
MATTHEWS: Without going to Congress?
HUCKABEE: Well, if it's necessary to get it done because it's actionable right now, yes. If you have the time and the luxury of going to Congress, that's always better. But, Chris, the most important single thing is to make sure.
MATTHEWS: And if Congress say no, what do you do?
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: If Congress says no, what do you do, Governor?
HUCKABEE: You do what's best for the American people and you suffer the consequences. But what you don't do is what you never do, is let the American people one day get hit with a nuclear device because you had politics going on in Washington, instead of the protection of the American people first.
To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;
To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;
To provide and maintain a navy;
To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces;
To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;...
.
Thank you for the link above. Let's get a little more background on the subject. I will post the original question and Ron Paul's response to the question first.
Quote:
MATTHEWS: I guess I want to get to the basic constitutional view here of you gentlemen. I want to start with Congressman Hunter. The same question. If we get -- I'd like to get a number -- response. This couldn't be more important. Do you believe that Congress has to authorize a strategic attack, not an attack on -- during hot pursuit, but a strategic attack on weaponry in Iran -- do you need congressional approval as commander and chief?
Congressman Paul, do you believe the president needs authorization of Congress to attack strategic targets in Iran, nuclear facilities?
PAUL: Absolutely. This idea of going and talking to attorneys totally baffles me. Why don't we just open up the Constitution and read it? You're not allowed to go to war without a declaration of war.
Now, as far as fleeting enemies go, yes. If there's an imminent attack on us. We've never had that happen in 220 years.
PAUL: The thought that the Iranians could pose an imminent attack on the United States is preposterous. There's no way. This is just...
(CROSSTALK)
PAUL: This is -- this is just war propaganda, continued war propaganda, preparing this nation to go to war and spread this war not only in Iraq, but into Iran, unconstitutionally. It is a road to disaster for us as a nation. It's a road to our financial disaster if we don't read the Constitution once in a while.
Ron Paul said he does not believe Iran is a threat Now, let's review my question
Quote:
So, if someone else declares war against America we have to wait for wusses in Congress to vote as to whether or not we are willing to defend our country?
During his speech on March 2, 2007, Mike Huckabee said he believed "the radical Islamic fascists who have declared war on us"
You can listen to that part of his speech here
Knowing that Mike Huckabee already believed "radical Islamic fascist ...have declared war on us," reread his answer and tell me what is wrong with it Why wait for Congress to declare something the enemy already declared? My point all along has been that Ron Paul just doesn't get it and Mike Huckabee does
