Recently, traffic has been really high on this board/forum and caused the pages to time-out or load slowly. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Brian,
Can anything be done about the slow loading? Can we get an upgrade or something/ I know it is important that we keep the board "unofficial" and so no union funds should be used, but I think that if we could improve the site, I would be willing to pitch in as I'm sure many others would also, this would still keep the forum in the hands of the members. |

I just received an email back from the host saying:

The activity on your board can not affect our users. If it was slow that was probably due to scans on our end (we are cleaning out of a lot of boards that are overrun with spam) and it won't be a long lasting issue.
Should all be done tonight. |
I also ran the database optimization so I hope that might help. |

We are again seeing slow page loads. You can see this at the bottom of any page on this forum:

The 10.83 sec. load shown above seems to be one of the faster loads for this forum with the traffic. I have contacted the host and they are working on getting another host. I have been told they hope to have this change in hosts/speed by the first of the year. Until then, just sit and wait until the page loads and be thankful it's still loading and not down.
I must say that this scares me, because there are always problems when moves like this are made between hosting sites, so I'm going to pray we do not have any downtime. 
For those that don't believe in GOD, cross your fingers please.

Traffic has been really high on this board/forum not with members but guests viewing pages. It has caused the forum pages to time-out or load slowly. Please click on your selection and then wait. Some pages may take 50 sec to load, your continued patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Some may have noticed the recent forum downtime as the forum was said to have been moved to a different host. I trust our page load times will be faster and more up time one the forum.
