I looked up socialist countries in a search engine and found some very interesting information. The more I read, the more concerned I become in the unions alliance with politicians supporting socialist philosophies. Could it also explain the resent concessions the national reps allowed in the more recent contracts? Are they trying to push for a socialistic country and socialized medicine? “The constitutions of these countries claim that all power belongs to the working class.” Based on what you know, would you believe that to be true of China, Cuba, North Korea, Laos, and Viet Nam? Aren’t some of these countries notorious for having “sweatshops”? If that is what power to the working class is, I don’t want it How about you?

These countries are generally known as "Communist states" in the West, because their ruling parties typically use the name "Communist Party of [country]." However, the countries themselves are referred to as socialist republics, not communist, in their own constitutions. They are defined by a form of government in which the state operates under a one-party system and declares allegiance to the ideology of Marxism-Leninism. In accordance with Marxism-Leninism, the constitutions of these countries claim that all power belongs to the working class, that a democratic dictatorship of the proletariat has been implemented within their borders, and that they are building socialism, with the goal of achieving communism one day. It should be noted that even though North Korea claims to no longer follow this ideology, the roots of its own brand called Juche does still have elements of it.

Personally, I am leaning more toward Mike Huckabee. He is a former minister with very strong pro-life views as well as sharing many of my other views. I was very impressed by his answers at the Florida debate. I also like what I’ve found at his website. You might want to consider him before making your final decision.

I'd like you to join me at the best "Going Out of Business" sale I can imagine - one held by the Internal Revenue Service. Am I running for president to shut down the federal government? Not exactly. But I am running to completely eliminate all federal income and payroll taxes. And do I mean all - personal federal, corporate federal, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, self-employment.

HUCKABEE: First of all, we don't have a health care system. We have a health care maze. And we don't have a health care crisis. We have a health crisis. Eighty percent of the $2 trillion we spend on health care in this country is spent on chronic disease. If we don't change the health of this nation by focusing on prevention, we're never going to catch up with the costs no matter what plan we have.
(APPLAUSE)
HUCKABEE: The reality is it's a health crisis, and I would further say that one of the challenges we face is that a lot of the Democrats want to turn it over to the government, while the Republicans want to turn it over completely to the private insurance companies.
I think the better idea is to turn it over to each individual consumer and let him or her make that choice. I trust me a lot more than I trust government or a lot more than I trust the insurance companies.
And we've got a situation with 10,000 baby boomers a day signing up for Social Security, going into the Medicare system. And I just want to remind everybody when all the old hippies find out that they get free drugs, just wait until what that's going to cost out there.

After watching the debate, I remembered a newsletter of a doctor I saw while seeking some alternative treatment to a medical condition. The title of Dr. Elvove’s December 2003 article was “Say No to Drugs” at
An ill person has an innate ability to initiate healing by self-correcting underlying imbalances. I believe that symptoms such as pain and fatigue are helpful in that they can alert us to an imbalance that we should correct. Using drugs to relieve symptoms is akin to covering the glaring "fix engine" light on your car's dashboard with black tape so that you won't notice it while you continue to drive. After covering up symptoms for awhile, the underlying structure will fail, resulting in a far more serious problem. I believe that heart attacks, strokes, cancer, and degenerative diseases were long preceded by symptoms that were ignored or covered up by drugs. I do not like the message that our government is sending us by subsidizing the chronic use of drugs. I understand that it is merely human nature to desire a quick fix to a problem, but this approach is not in the long-term best interests of the individual or society. If you are attempting to improve a person's health, why not pay for a health club membership, or for cooking and nutrition classes, or for better food instead?... If we continue to spend more money on entitlement programs for health care without changing lifestyles and health habits, I fear that in 10 years when the baby boomers retire, we will confront a health care crisis of unimaginable proportions. Of course each American has the right to live whatever lifestyle he or she chooses. The question is, who should bear the burden of supporting the results of unhealthy lifestyle choices? It's unwise and unfair to lay this burden upon the next generation of young Americans. When they were growing up we told them to "Say No to Drugs." Now that they have grown, we will be asking them to "Buy Us Drugs!"
I like Brian’s idea of some sort of pre-tax help with our added medical expenses. Is there anyway to get the union to try to implement something before the next contract? Especially for the retirees that will soon be hit with major increases in health care expenses. I would prefer the Health Savings Accounts because
Quote:
HSA accounts also have an advantage over Flexible Spending Accounts since deposits are not necessarily tied to expenses in a particular plan or calendar year. They are automatically rolled over for future medical expenses, or may be used to reimburse qualified expenses from prior years as long as the expense was qualified under an HSA plan at the time incurred. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_Savings_Accounts#HSAs_vs._other_types_of_medical_savings_plans

I understand the "non-core" will get this Health Care Spending Account and the "core" will not!
Think of how profitable it has become for the drug companies since they convinced insurance companies and the government to pay for medications. Side effects from one prescription are treated by another prescription to cover up the symptoms. This keeps on until we are taking numerous “maintenance drugs”. Where does it stop? Many times our original problems are due to some kind of deficiency; but vitamins and minerals are not covered by insurance or even deductible as medical expenses. We need more doctors that are willing to try alternative treatments. I used to suffer from severe headaches. I seldom take pain meds anymore; and when I do start needing them again, I schedule another chiropractic adjustment. Being able to use pre-tax dollars would sure be nice.

If the new hires are getting it, don’t give up. Maybe someday
WE have to look beyond the labels and slick talk. What are they going to do about the low wage levels in this country? What are they going to do about the expense of health care? what are they going to do about unemployment and part-time temporary work?
to hell with blather and happy talk, i want details and committments. which I get from no one at all.
you all need to check out the council on foreign relations and the ties they have with nafta, cafta, wto, cta, gatt and the birth of the north american union. every person that is running for the white house but ron paul is a member of the council on foreign relations.
brothers and sisters this is the reason our jobs are being sent over seas or your asked to take a pay cut so the company can compete with the slave nations of 3rd world country's like china and mexico.
the council on foreign relations wants to do way with the constitution of our country and place us under united nations control. i don't know about you but i do not want the dictators or the leaders of a police state dictating law to me here in america.
ron paul wants to get us out of the united nations. he wants to eliminate nafta, cafta, gatt, wto, wta, cta because they are treaties that are design to lead america into the north american union.
you want to save whats left of your job and the jobs in america, you will need to educate your selfs on the council on foreign relations, trilateral commission and the bilderberg group! we have treasonous traitors in our government, time to get off your couch and act before america as we knew it will be gone.

larry you need to check out some of the videos in my ron paul post.
I know all about the bilderberg, trilateral etc from years back. Yes it's true they are about creating a global dictatorship of the very, very wealthy. It's already here.
My problem is that I hear many people, Ron Paul, Lyndon LaRouche, rant and rave about them ... as a substitute for providing actual committments. Paul and LaRouche are no different in that way than the union bureaucracy who rant and rave about the globalization and nafta and stuff -- get us whipped up -- and then sell us totally out.
I want commitments: I want them to guarantee 5 million new jobs at $15 an hour minimum wage. I want them to guarantee a national health care plan for every citizen just exactly like the VA already has for every veteran. I want them to guarantee a national gasoline price of $2.00 per gallon so we can afford to drive back and forth to work. I want them to guarantee one teacher for every 20 kids max in my grandkids' school.
I don't care if they wipe Bilderberg etcetera off the face of the earth, a new such group will just pop up to take its place and we will have gained nothing.
That's what I mean by committments. They won't committ because they are not actually on our side, they are pretending to be so they will get votes. The established politicians' club won't let them in so they are trying the fringe way around. For themselves. That's all. If it wasn't for themselves first, then they would make basic commitments for our most basic needs.
End of rant, sorry about that, i have watched such things for too many years.

ron paul has 20 years of voting in line with the constitution to back up what he says. there is no man in the race for the white house that has a record that even comes close to voting in line with the constitution.
you don't give a solution in your post on who to vote for, so i ask who should we vote for?
i am not for national health care that is socialism and socialism equals communism. i want the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution and national health care would only degrade my freedom.
you don't give a solution in your post on who to vote for, so i ask who should we vote for?
I for one wouldnt presume to tell anyone who to vote for, lol. I would say you should seek answers in upcoming elections just like you did in our contract vote, and that is to research them and find out the facts on voting records, what they stand for, who they are connected with, ect..
I think we all see where all of this is headed and hopefully everyone else does too because we are in big trouble if it doesnt stop. Way too many people dont bother to vote and that is a shame in itself, but it will take everyone to stand up and be counted to work.

i would never vote for someone that i do not trust, so when i asked him who should i vote for, was asked not so i could vote for the same guy but to see who he was backing.
Personally, I am leaning more toward Mike Huckabee. He is a former minister with very strong pro-life views as well as sharing many of my other views. I was very impressed by his answers at the Florida debate.
i think doctor ron paul knows more about being pro life then huckabee does. ron paul has brought 4000 baby's into this world, how much pro life could that be? ron paul wants to stop the war, is that not pro life? how pro life is huckabee when he does not want to stop the unconstitutional illegal war with iraq. how many more solders or innocent people in iraq should die for the lies the bush administration used to drag us to war.? how can you be pro life and pro war at the same time?
watch ron paul shut huckabee up in this video and then look at huckabee's face at the end, ron paul crushed him and huckabee face shows it all!
I watched that whole debate. That is when I started leaning even more toward Huckabee. War against evil will continue until Christ returns and puts an end to it. We have to protect our freedom. “Give me liberty or give me death!” If it weren’t for people like that, we would not have a Constitution at all. Declaring war gives the President too much power for our political agenda Congress to do so. Congress voted to go to Iraq even if it was based on faulty intelligence. Maybe it could have been better if the previous administration hadn’t depleted the funding. Troop deaths are down considerably since the surge. Victory can still be achieved if only Americans would stop fighting amongst ourselves.
Huckabee seemed to be the choice for those in Ft. Lauderdale that attended the Values Debate on Sept. 17th.
Quote:
The First Ever Values Voter Presidential Debate Straw Poll, held last night at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, declared Governor Mike Huckabee as the pro-family winner.
Maybe these answers are why Paul didn’t do as well.
Quote:
Q: Today, Christians are being beaten, jailed, and expelled throughout the Muslim world. In Saudi Arabia, no church buildings are permitted, yet Saudi extremist Wahhabis have built hundreds of mosques in the US with funding from Saudi Arabia. If elected, will you take action to protest these gross injustices and persecution by denying visas or imposing trade sanctions?
• HUCKABEE: Yes
• PAUL: No.
Q: Sarah Lu was forced to work in labor camps for six years, for the crime of being a Christian house church leader. Thousands of prisoners of conscience are forced to manufacture items that stock our American shelves. Would you make future trade with China contingent on them measurably improving their record on religious freedom & human rights?
• HUCKABEE: Yes.
• .PAUL: No.
