I work at TDS/Syncreon and I got my letter Saturday. They want us to start on Nov 9th on 1st shift for training then 2nd shift starting Nov 17. Why are we starting on a Tues? the letter also states that 2nd shift could be only running through the end of Dec. or possibly to the end of March. Has anyone heard anything like this yet? I can't see them bringing all those people back for just a month, but i forgot who we are dealing with.

Thank you! In reguards to the phone call, we at TDS/Syncreon got the phone call about going back on Thursday and the letter on Saturday. They said that we had until Tuesday to call the 24 hour number to let them know if we will be going back or not. We have now done this about 3 times now. I will just be glad to get back...For how long nobody knows. I saw online somewhere, that Chrysley/Fiat is planning on keeping the 2nd shift around for at least the whole 2010 and they said they have no plans on changing that. (That was coming from the big guy) We all know how everything is subject to change. Let's just hope for the best.

We at JCI got told nov 2nd report during days and then 2nd shift start up nov 16

No word from the company on how long but some members have been sayings 5 weeks or 5 months

As TDS stated, i'll just be "glad" to be back to work but then we at JCI will have a new dilemma to approach once we go back.  Contract vote in feb

I received a phone call today (I was an ETE, laid off last year in March) for a rehire drug screening, that I had to go tomorrow to either Beloit or Roscoe to a clinic there.  Of course there was no further information, especially since the phone call came form a 3rd party. I don't think they will work around my school schedule tho, but we'll see....

When they very 1st announced on the news (Sept. 3rd) they were going to bring back 2nd for temp purposes, I called and left my name, CID#, and phone number to be put on a "list" of call backs.  So, maybe that is why they waited so long, but it's Chrysler - they do everything funny!  I have a class that meets one night a week, and we're more than half way thru the semester - I won't drop the class, because when it is over I can have a job that will pay me the same as Chrysler will, but it's in the health care field - so it wouldn't be dependent upon cars selling or not.  I can't afford to leave the class with it being my future, however if (and that's a huge if) they are willing to work around the one night a week, I'm game, I'd love to make some money while they are willing to let me.  So I guess it will depend on how desperate they are to start up!

I got a phone call as well yesterday, same locations for the drug test...Which is stupid, the plant is in Belvidere....why the hell do I need to go to Beloit or Roscoe, no one can test my pee in Belvidere or Rockford? Anyways, I told the drug test lady I would have to get back with her, as I did not even reapply there, and wanted to see what type of work I was getting into before I drove an hour either way to go take a pee test. (by the way,you only had yesterday or today to do it, talk about short notice)

I called HR, and asked what was up. Why I was getting called. She had no clue, they where just calling people back for drug tests if you had been away for more than 6 months, that getting that call did not mean you where returning to work (Interesting.) And that official calls would come out later next week. So I asked what type of work would it be, and she said temp work at 14.12 an hour and only for 5 weeks. I said thank you for the info and hung up.

I still have like 22 weeks of unemployment left. I am not going back to work and having my extension wasted to only work for 5 weeks, and make less money than what I make now. I refuse to go back as a temp anyways as long as I have other options open. If they would offer a full time position even at $14, I would strongly consider returning.

I asked them why so far away too for the rehire drug screening, and they said they were the ones hired to do it!  It took me 30 min from Belvidere to get to the Roscoe location - which by the way was very nice. If they are willing to work with me on my 1 night a week school schedule, I'll be there. The latest rumor at BAP is they will be starting up 2nd shift mid November and laying it back off again the end of January.  So can anyone say "Christmas Money!!!" or Christmas Vacation!!!  Good luck to all.  Very Happy

I just got a phone call from Chrysler's HR, asking me to come in on Friday, October 30 for an orientation.  The orientation is from 6am-2:30, and we're to bring a lunch.  She said absolutely nothing else, so again, I'm curious are they going to work around my 1 night a week class or not - I highly doubt it, but I will sit there and listen to what they have to say.
