Are ATV's worth having?

I've been thinking about my bug out plan overall.

I've done my usual check and recheck of the bug out bag, the 'other' bag, and while thinking of a back up plan, to boot, this came into my brain:

I thought of how and if an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) would work out in a situation where the highways and other well traveled roads may be closed to anyone other than JBT's.

I found this:

http://www.atv.info/

but, over on the left side, there are sooo many of these ATV things to choose from.

Anybody passin' by got some info on this?

I'm just thinkin the .gov might shut these things down too.  Maybe I need to get one (or three).

What do ya think?

I, myself, like to use ATVs. However, there is one problem. How will you get access to fuel? Gasoline stations are likely to be monitored(somehow), and anyone getting fuel would be tracked. You COULD bring some with you. . .but that is a very limited amount, usually only one tank's worth.

I think you are correct in that.

Since I posted that, and you seem to be the only one with some knowledge on these, would it be feasable to cache fuel along a planned route?

Considering of course, the need for a stabilization agent, and there not being any hinerance in the route.

Thanks for the reply
