Well, Friday is the big day. June 1st, I will be receiving lower back surgery for an injury received in Trashcanistan (Afghanistan). Though this is a relatively minor operation, in fact it is an out-patient procedure, I have my worries. This procedure has been done to me before at my L4-L5 level and has had very positive results resulting in no pain after 3 days. I was also able to walk, do PT, etc, after the 5th day. Fridays operation will be at the L5-S-1 level. Anyone who knows anatomy can guess why I am having worries. For those who don't, it is because at that level in the spine, the Doc will have to stick the needle into my spine and twist and turn to maneuver the needle into place, and risking hitting the nerves including the Cyatica. If there is a foul-up, I could become a quadriplegic for the rest of my life. Not to mention the high risk of infection that can come with any surgery. I have faith in this Doctor, but would like all of you to say some prayers for both him and I on Friday at 11am cst.
I will most likely be unable to let anyone know how I am on Friday because I will be recovering, and also groggy from the general anesthesia. If my head is clear enough by friday night, I will post it here.
Thanks in advance,

Just for housekeeping I moved it for ya ILSTATEMIITIA. CDJ
Apparently They didn't sedate me all the way and apparently I clocked the nurse while semi-conscious. In my defense, I DID warn them that it happened before while in the military because of the same issue. I reiterated and STRESSED the need to make sure I was FULLY under general anesthesia and not half sedated. Guess they all should have listened. Last time I was fine.:evillaugh
Anyhow, I am in severe pain. but at least the other option didnt happen.
