The cabelas in dundee michigan has them in Very good condition for 160 dollars. I picked one up as well as a few hundred rounds of surplus GP11.
My first impression on this rifle was relatively mixed. I heard that they are capible of incredible accuracy. Its not a pretty weapon, at least mine isnt. The stock has lots of nicks in it, and some of the finish is wearing off, but internally this thing is BEAUTIFUL! It also shoots very well. I was getting regular 1MOA groups at 100 yards with it. A detatchable scope mount can be had, and is actually very nice. it requires no drilling or tapping, which is also nice for those of you who like to keep your mil-surps in original condition.
I'll post pictures of the targets as soon as I can upload them.
I owned one in the late 90s. It was of far better quality than is expected from a military issue rifle. I loved the straight throw bolt. It was a great idea that was missed by other makers of the time. Make sure you use the 174 grain Spitzer-pointed model 11 bullet. Some surplus ammo dealers sell the older 190 grain conical-nosed bullet as Schmidt Rubin ammo and you wont know till you get it home. Did that at a gun show and was out $200. It is a very well made rifle and if it came in 7.62 NATO, I would buy a crate of them.
