"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."  James 1: 8

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."  Matt. 6 : 24

"No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."  Luke 16 : 13

Having stated the obvious from the Holy Bible, I had something to say as Americans prepare for Christmas.

In a few days, the elections at the Militia of Georgia will be over.  We will begin a new era.  But, we have people lacking in commitment and I feel they lack the commitment because they are lacking in their spiritual commitment.

The patriot / militia movement has been dealt vicious blows by the most evil people on the face of the earth.  And on the face of it they appear to be the good guys.  They refer to us as the "tin foil hat crowd" and they make fun of our ideology and act as if it were the silliest thing on earth.

Many of you spend time in the devil's den, trying to debate them on an field which is nowhere near level.  I've been there and I know.  And sometimes we get discouraged... some even buy into Satan's lies.  And then they see the error of their ways and return... sometimes only briefly before jumping back into what is the popular places to be.  We goback and forth.

Are you double minded?  Do you have doubts about your commitments?  Do you fear that you might be ostracized for taking unpopular stands?  Do you waver between being accepted and having a socially oriented life versus a moral / exemplary life?

I'd like to know what is keeping many of you from making the commitment and moving forward.  Talk to us.  The floor is open for your views.

Well Sir, I've made my commitment.
The only thing that slows me on moving forward would be finances, but I continue and am moving slowly (at least I'm moving  Smile  ).
Been at it since 1996 in CA,TX and NM.

mesatoad,

For what it's worth:

ALL of us spend too much time on the computer.  We spend time with people we can never convince; we spend too much time fighting cyberspace terrorists; we jump from discussion board to discussion board and from group to group.

We keep hoping the next guy has hit that liberty lottery which will produce the overnight success we dream of.  And we're ready to jump onto the most promising bandwagon without even looking before we leap.

The real lessons we learn are easily forgotten the moment some slick snake oil salesman comes along and tells us that our years of study is all mythical conspiracy theories.  In short most, if not all of us, allow some half educated con artist talk us into going against things we know in our hearts to be true.

In our own dealings we have witnessed self appointed "leaders" developing all kinds of standards by which we should be policed, only to unilaterally kick people out for debating unpopular stands.  And the Bible teaches us:

Pro 25:9 "Debate thy cause with thy neighbor [himself]; and discover not a secret to another: 10 Lest he that heareth [it] put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. 11 A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver."

Also, in II Timothy 2 : 15, we read:  "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Finally, in Jude 1: 3, we are admonished:  "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."

In all honesty, we don't have honest discourse in the form of debates; we don't study (which is why we feel a need to visit dozens of web sites.)  We are not supporting one another.  And we're so preoccupied in finding that magic elixir, that special potion, that silver bullet, that we don't see the opportunities staring us right in the face.

In my opinion, what it will take for the movement to be able to continue and succeed is for US, those of us who are here... those who actually READ these posts, to take the initiative to come here at least twice a week and offer something of benefit to the others.  We have to read the material here and begin developing a philosophy instead of this half baked commitment to vague concepts that force us to continually realign ourselves with other people who we think may be of like mind.  Some of us change friends, alliances, and objectives more frequently than we do our underwear.  Study, debate, and then earnestly contend...  If we don't do those things, how can we expect to be role models for others?  How can we expect others to support us when we are too busy building walls instead of bridges?

And that is my .02 cents worth... if it was ever worth even that much.
