While I wait on someone to reply to Shyloh's latest thread, the one in the Mission Statement and Rules I figured we might as well entertain the sheeple.  Having gotten a lot of requests for this information and forcing members and supporters to log onto the site rather than keep wasting time sending it to individual people who are using me for free entertainment and research, I thought the board should get the possibility of some interest via this thread.

So,  you want to be a citizen - soldier and you want to know where to go for your stuff ... be it a weapon, ammo, parts, etc. and you want to know what is competitive.  Now, here's a caveat:

A price in one market may be totally different from those in another market.  Let me give you an example:

I tried to buy an M1 Garand recently.  Some of the people on the boards are asking in the mid 700 dollar price range.  Well, 700 will buy you a NEWLY REBUILT M1.  Why would I pay MORE for a used rifle when I can get one for $750 that has a new barrel, new springs, and so forth?  Some people in some locations do... but, you have to be realistic.  Supply and demand differs from state to state and sometimes even within the same state.  I just priced M1s at a recent gun show.  LOTS of them were to be had in the $600 price range here... while some people think that $775 is a good deal a hundred miles down the road, south of here.

Well, if you're in Georgia we will start there and look at places you can find what you need locally and then branch out... bearing in mind once you shop out of state, you definitely will need someone with an FFL to buy for you.  You can't buy through interstate transactions without an FFL.  So, if you find a rifle for $100 less in another state, you have to figure what the shipping charges are going to be AND the FFL dealer's mark-up.  They expect you to pay for their FFL... and don't forget insurance.   Anyway, here you all go:
