How many have NVDs , GPSs , of most anything batttery operated.
Hey I'd love to have a NVD!!! only things is there isn't any QucSaks, 7-11s or walmart in the boonies. Maybe solar powered battery chargers.
I have a book called Night Movements, it's used by the Australian & Rhodesian S.F. units. I highly recommend everyone to get a copy ANd put the FTXs to good use!!!
I got mine from Delta Press. Oh! Old school NVD is You & your senses |

There may be no 7-11's etc in the boonies, but there are people that have electricity if'n ya can sneak up to a plug in without get'n shot (or try to make an ally) in a shtf scenario. A reeeeeeeally long extension cord and the ability to pull it out quickly and real it in to your position could come in handy.
Oh, and there are the solar charges. Also, there are hand-crank charger units that may be linked to an inverter. _________________ Don't Tread On ME....lest my fangs wind up in your foot ! |

When you don't have neighbors to "borrow" from, you may want to develop your own power source. You can build your own solar power generator for under $300:

Insofar as GPS is concerned, you may as well have a beacon signalling the N.W.O. your exact location. Map and compass might be old school, but it's a bit more secure from exposing your location in a real SHTF scenario.
I don't know enough about NVDs to make an intelligent reply. |

Some survivalist groups won't let you near they're POS (postion)with a GARMIN or anything else that can TRI-ANGULATE where you are. |

Me, too! We do not use GPS in our training at all, and cell phones, PDA's and even vehicles with "On Star" are not welcome for the same reason.
Maybe that might seem a bit overboard to some, but it sure beats trying to figure out 'how'd THEY get here????'
7.5 minute maps (1:25,000), USGI Lensatic Compass is the only way to go for land nav in our opinion. |
