National Sovereignty is defined in the following manner:
The supreme, absolute, and uncontrollable power by which an independent state is governed and from which all specific political powers are derived; the intentional independence of a state, combined with the right and power of regulating its internal affairs without foreign interference.
Sovereignty is the power of a state to do everything necessary to govern itself, such as making, executing, and applying laws; imposing and collecting taxes; making war and peace; and forming treaties or engaging in commerce with foreign nations.
The individual states of the United States do not possess the powers of external sovereignty, such as the right to deport undesirable persons, but each does have certain attributes of internal sovereignty, such as the power to regulate the acquisition and transfer of property within its borders. The sovereignty of a state is determined with reference to the U.S. Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land.

SOVEREIGNTY. The union and exercise of all human power possessed in a state; it is a combination of all power; it is the power to do everything in a state without accountability; to make laws, to execute and to apply them: to impose and collect taxes, and, levy, contributions; to make war or peace; to form treaties of alliance or of commerce with foreign nations, and the like. Story on the Const. Sec. 207.
2. Abstractedly, sovereignty resides in the body of the nation and belongs to the people. But these powers are generally exercised by delegation.
3. When analysed, sovereignty is naturally divided into three great powers; namely, the legislative, the executive, and the judiciary; the first is the power to make new laws, and to correct and repeal the old; the second is the power to execute the laws both at home and abroad; and the last is the power to apply the laws to particular facts; to judge the disputes which arise among the citizens, and to punish crimes.
4. Strictly speaking, in our republican forms of government, the absolute sovereignty of the nation is in the people of the nation; (q.v.) and the residuary sovereignty of each state, not granted to any of its public functionaries, is in the people of the state. "If instant world government, Charter review, and a greatly strengthened International Court do not provide the answers, what hope for progress is there? The answer will not satisfy those who seek simple solutions to complex problems, but it comes down essentially to this: The hope for the foreseeable lies, not in building up a few ambitious central institutions of universal membership and general jurisdiction as was envisaged at the end of the last war, but rather in the much more decentralized, disorderly and pragmatic process of inventing or adapting institutions of limited jurisdiction and selected membership to deal with specific problems on a case-by-case basis ... In short, the 'house of world order' will have to be built from the bottom up rather than f rom the top down. It will look like a great 'booming, buzzing confusion,' to use William James' famous description of reality, but an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault."

From the lack of viewers on this topic AND the absence of posters, it appears that I'm only amusing myself and educating myself as we go along.
It appears to me, based upon my research that national sovereignty has something to do with the power of government.
Part of the Declaration of Independence states:
"Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
Maybe I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but are we accepting the assault on the war against National Sovereignty by remaining silent and refusing to have a discussion on the issue? I asked for definitions of this term, National Sovereignty, to over 50 of what is supposed to be the most serious militia leaders in the United States. After a week, fewer than half a dozen of them thought this subject even worthy of a posting of any sort.
Truly, if there exists a war against "National Sovereignty" and actual, physical groups have expressed a willingness to destroy it, shouldn't we be helping each other to understand exactly what it is?
YES, we should! (sorry, it's a bit difficult to keep up with EvErY thing going on in all the forums and groups I'm a part of at times) _________________ Don't Tread On ME....lest my fangs wind up in your foot !

Hmmm..........fascism????????????? _________________ When all is said & done, be sure more is done than said.
Hey CDJ, are you feeling like Tom Turkey at Thanksgiving here....lol. I wouldn't say it was nothing more than political propaganda, but I would say that it was a part of political propaganda. Think about it, the Declaration of Independence rallied the colonies in support against Great Britain. _________________ "You must become an advocate of what you believe otherwise, you will become a victim of what others want you to believe" - author unkown

Hoowdy all--and to the participating members in this thread!
I'm gonna start another thread on my political propaganda by TJ thoughts, OK.
Once I get it going and post the link in my first post in here mentioning that, would y'all delete y'alls post behind that one if it doesn't have to do with the topic of this thread?
If not, no big deal. I'm just thinking of 'cleaner house' is all.
Thanks
