BASIC MILITIA PREPARATIONS (Part 2 of 3)

We've covered a lot of ground in this thread.  By now you should have a good idea of what you would like to accomplish in your role as a citizen soldier and what it is going to cost.

Basically there are two different kinds of citizen - soldiers.  There are those who are army wannabes.  They want to play by the system's rules and regulations and they think that everything connected to government is good.  These people see themselves as an extension of Homeland (IN) Security.

The OTHER class of people see themselves as displaced Americans in a country where the government is not doing what our forefathers intended.  These people may see a time in the future where Homeland (IN) Security will be the people conducting round-ups of all those who dare oppose the edicts laid down by what we have come to know as the New World Order.  In that scenario, the people are the victims of the current government.  And, in order to stave off the inevitable, some of these people are trying to vote us back into power while the other main faction has a host of possible remedies up to, but not limited to secession.

In between these two major trains of thought are people who subscribe to a host of theories - and sometimes they even endorse BOTH viewpoints.  And, for the most part, people are extremely confused.  There is a psychological term for their behaviour.  Read about it at this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance

I bring this up because one of your major considerations is to decide what you are preparing for.  How do you see your role as a citizen - soldier in the coming months, years?  The military has been given questionnaires, asking if they would fire on American civilians who resisted federal authorities who would not surrender their privately held arms.  I ask you, perhaps rhetorically (as we cannot publicly discuss the real answers) if you would fire on soldiers who were doing house to house search and seizures, weapons confiscation detail?

If you answer in the affirmative, you've got to ask yourself WHY you would do anything that would aid the New World Order and / or increase the size, power and / or scope of government.

I realize that for many people, these exercises seem to be boring and mundane; nevertheless, they are necessary.  You cannot train for, prepare and otherwise get ready for a fight unless you know what you're going up against.  If we ask tough and mundane questions now, you won't be jumping from cause to another on a daily basis.  you will save time and money on your preparations, and you won't waste time running when you may need be learning how to climb.

The final post will be a bit more interesting... I promise.

Basic Militia Preparations (Part 3 of 3)

I've tried to get you emotionally and mentally prepared for the journey you are about to take.  I have my own personal bias, so it cannot be denied in this posting.  IF this thread continues, you've probably derived all the benefit you can should you believe that obedience to an illegal government is in your best interests and / or your family's best interests.

Joshua 24:15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve..."

Matthew 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

George W. Bush said that anyone who was not with him was with the terrorists.  In essence, Bush saw himself as a God like figure.  Since that statement, we have seen more and more "conservative" groups and organizations demand complete loyalty to their party line.  Many of the people we used to rely on are now fanatical about their philosophies.  I warn you of this because it will become more and more difficult for you to formulate and follow a consistent path toward freedom and liberty.

At the same time, you cannot be blinded by party rhetoric that you end up working at one of the end of the spectrum to achieve freedom and liberty while, at the other end of that spectrum, you end up financing and participating in your own destruction.

In my own opinion, every person out there should be working toward the ability to live freely and independently of the system.  Our total independence from the system would end the era of tyranny and oppression that is rapidly coming upon our nation.  That is why I would tell you to do things like get out of debt, plant a garden, begin relying on people connected to alternative health options (naturopaths, for example.)  Be concentious about your privacy... for instance, don't use those loyalty cards, divorce yourself from ATM cards and credit cards.  Don't use the ssn for identification - and PROTEST the National ID requirements / ssn requirements that government and business shoulder you with.  Complain to your elected leaders.  Complain to the people who "require" you to use an ssn in order to business with them.

When you begin collecting the things you need to achieve independence and enhance your long term survival chances, you start with the things most likely to be outlawed.  Your basic tool as a citizen - soldier would be your rifle (sometimes referred to as a Main Battle Rifle.)  You put some thoughts into what kind suits you and then make the commitment.  The options for kind and type dwindle each year as more and more of the firearms we used to have access to are banned.  Ammo, spare parts, magazines, and tools can be acquired a few at a time.  And the Johnny Appleseed shoots will give you a beginning point for marksmanship techniques.

You need first aid training (and the Red Cross is a good starting point.)  Paramedic skills are taught at many local community colleges while you can do alternative medicine courses (herbology and so forth) via home study.

You can train yourself to do your own legal work.  www.nolo.com is a good place to start as are home study paralegal programs.

The opportunities are endless.  You simply must become motivated to act AND you must act in a manner that helps you achieve a degree of understanding and competency in each area.  You can't read a few articles here about one topic and a few days later go somewhere and read about something else, hoping for any appreciable amount of understanding.  You pick a subject at a time and spend a few weeks learning the basics about that one subject.  And you network with those who share your interests.

IF we generate any interest by way of comments or questions on this thread, we will move to the more advanced aspects.  In any event, you have access on this thread and on this board to the most important parts of being a militiaman.  I'd like to finish this thread, but despite all the times it has been viewed, no questions have been fielded to me in PMs for over two weeks and nobody is commenting nor asking questions on the thread.  Sooo. we'll come back at a later time and begin Phase II of this at another time (MAYBE.)

Is that not a two-edged sword?  If one answers in the negative, it is allowing the NWO goons to think they can get away with it.  If one answers in the positive, it gives the NWO goons a reason to make new laws and demonize patriots.

It is only a two edged sword if you respond publicly to the question.  The real answer is only known by you and those who comprise your unit.

But, play time is over.  If you would act, then you better be prepared... prepared to meet the challenge, ready to bug out and then have a place to go to.  The NWO is about to get really serious and only the strong survive.

My wife was listening to some people discuss local politics and was upset when a local businessman asked me for ideas on anti-Obama posters.  Here was my idea:  Use a black poster with the word OBAMA at the top (in white) and at the bottom of the poster it says FOR CHANGE (again the lettering would be in white.)  In the center of the poster would be the hammer and sickle in gold.

Anyway, my wife thinks that the Dems will be out to get all who resisted them during the election should Obama beat McCain.  She may very well be right... so we better be ready at any cost.  To resist or not to resist... that is the question.  We can't respond in public.

Several months have passed since I began this thread.  We have added over twenty five new posters.  So, once again, we will revisit this thread and add some material.  All of this is extremely important.

There are days when I think that there is no way to win the war we're engaged in.  And then, it becomes a bit more clear that you never exactly "win" or lose, the fight continues from one generation to the next.  Right now, for me, it would be possible to walk away and not to have to worry about "me."  Between myself, family, extended family and other contacts, we have the equipment and knowledge one would expect to have in a SHTF scenario.  I reread this thread before adding more info to it since it is intended NOT to keep repeating some points.

The basic reason all of you over 40 or so should stay involved is to make sure the younger generation has access to the life long experiences you had in the course of becoming a patriot / militiaman.  The younger generation should get involved because this is their country; this is their lives; this is their futures.

Albert Einstein gave me the inspiration to see the importance of the life I lived when he wrote:  "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."

Another quote I'd like to leave you with before continuing on goes like this:

"Liberty can not be preserved without a general knowledge among the people."  (John Adams)

In the Bible it says "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge."  (Hosea 4: 6)  That statement could be no more true than it is right now at this very moment.  We have access to the internet, books, videos; hundreds of organizations, people with opinions galore.  Yet we are at the lowest point in terms of Freedom and Liberty since before the War of Independence.  There is plenty of information.  There is simply a lack of knowledge.

The mind is much like a parachute.  It will only function when open.  Today, you should begin to start asking yourself what it is you want out of life.  What do you hope to accomplish?  Where do you want to be next year?  In five years? Ten years?  Twenty years?

Do you honestly see an America that will allow you to realize all your goals?  Are you comfortable with gun control?  Do you want the government to be making your medical decisions through universal health care?  Do you want the government to decide what you can watch on tv... or who you can associate with - or even what you should or should not believe?

Days from now the Militia of Georgia will hold a recruitment / face to face meeting to update the units on what is going on.  Out of a nation of hundreds of millions of people, only a handful will show up.  Yet, of those humdreds of millions, tens of thousands of them will access sites like this over the next few days.  The problem is too much information and too little commitment by those who visit the sites.  And that is why I urge you to reread what we've posted thus far and draw upon it in order to figure out what it is you want and the best way to go about getting there.

Feel free to respond.

Once again, I revisited this thread to see if there were any further activity.  Unfortunately, little has changed.  However, since this thread was started, I've had time to reread this thread and see some bad advice that I have given.  Let me explain:

SOME people believe that I endorsed the idea of lying to everyone in the movement as to who you are when I advocated that you post on boards under an assumed name.

Make no mistake about it.  The moment you get on the internet or other electronic media, Uncle Scam is watching you with one of his many tools.  I'd like to leave an important link so that you can get a feel for what Uncle Scam IS capable of:

http://www.crazylinux.net/photos.htm

I gave some bad advice in an earlier post here and hope that you can differentiate between what I intended to say and what was actually said.   I used to try and help other groups by posting under anonymous names on the internet.  That way, nobody in the "movement" was giving intel about me to the alphabet agencies.  Little did I realize that people monitoring the discussion boards have ways of tracing your ISP and can identify you in a manner similar to Caller ID on the telephone.

On a number of boards, insecure keyboard commandos felt it necessary to put my real name on discussion boards.  They basically had two motives: to either expose my activities to the feds and / or destroy the impartiality of my posts by telling who was behind ideas they didn't like.

The ultimate reality boils down to this:  there is NO anonymity on the internet.  If you are on it, Uncle Scam has a file on you.  And by not providing your real name to the people you intend to network with, it puts both of you at risk.  If everybody is lying about who they are, the intel officers in the militia are left to dig through EVERYBODY'S past just to differentiate between the good guys and the bad guys.  Additionally, if you lie about who you are, the people in the militia cannot assist you properly if / when the SHTF.

The late Lt. Col. Jack Mohr once told me that any man afraid to put his name on a political petition would not be the man who would watch your back if both of you were in a foxhole.

There are some areas which you can and SHOULD be working to protect your private information.  My next post will tell you how to do that.

welder,  I'm glad that someone is finding this effort beneficial.  Let me finish this train of thought off with a posting about privacy.  Then we can get back to your preparations:

There are times when secrecy among patriots is downright silly; times when it is paranoia; sometimes when it is necessary.  It's just the whole part about to lying to militia brethren that I clearly don't understand.

Uncle Scam probably has a LOT of intel on you and he uses it to HARM you.  What your militia brethren need to know is only to HELP you.  However, there are times when people in the militia ask for information they clearly don't need.  Let's get to the meat of this:

As we previously saw in my prior posting, the government has a lot of capabilities with respect to monitoring you.  Now, here is some of the things they currently use to keep up with you:

Your credit file, bank account, tax records, and employment records are all available to the LEO community - even on a whim.  And all of them are tied to your Socialist Surveillance Number (oooops... "Social Security" Number.)  Bottom line:  If you want / need privacy in this area, then Federal Reserve Notes are your best friend.  In case you don't know what a Federal Reserve Note is, it is those green pieces of paper with pictures of dead presidents on them that we used to carry in the days before the ATM card and credit card.  These do not leave a paper trail and rely solely on people's memories (which dims with time.)

Also, I get e mails from paranoid types from time to time which requests that I "delete" their account because they are being followed and they blame it on a discussion board.  What a load of horse manure!  NOBODY will be following you around snapping your picture and watching you just because you got onto a politically unpopular discussion board.  Hell, I've stumbled over sites where they openly talk about making big things that go boom; sites that brag about drug use; sites that glorify lawbreakers.

What the government CAN do is to monitor where you go on the net and who you talk to.  Worse, you do common things which do more to give up vital intel than the government can do with thousands of hours of monitoring.  You go to the store and get a "customer loyalty card."  Then, EVERYTHING you buy is registered to that card.  Oh, the store can let you "lie" on your application, but the first time you use your ATM card, credit card or write out an old fashioned check,  they then have your customer loyalty card number checked against the number of the financial instrument you just used (be it check, ATM card, credit card, etc.)  Then, Bingo.  They have you.  And in the very near future, ALL the intel that is being collected will some day be used against you.  I may have given you this link before, but it is most applicable to the situation that is about to take place in the VERY near future... nearer than you think.  Check it out:

http://www.aclu.org/pizza/images/screen.swf

I've said this before - and in many other threads:  Don't every use your Socialist Surveillance Number (Social Security Number, ssn, or whatever you call it) for anything other than taxes!  You are inadvertenly giving out vital intel to a government gone mad when you do what they want and expect... which is to take the "easy" way out in life.  They tell you that the cards will make your life "easy" and that an ATM card is safe.  Some day you may NEED the privacy.  For instance, suppose that the government declared you or a family member to be an enemy combatant.  And rather than be tortured and possibly killed, you - or that family member decides to hide out.  Yet, between your ATM card and your customer loyalty cards - and your liberal use of that "ssn" for identification at every merchant, doctor, hospital, dentitst, pharmacy, etc. on God's green earth, the government knows what you are doing...  Feed your family member or yourself on registered items and the government knows it.

Too many "patriots" worry about the intel they might give to a fellow patriot.  They won't even listen to the facts about how much they unintentionally give to agencies monitoring them.  And some of those monitoring agencies are only looking for things upon which to use to control you.  Okay, that's the basic message. In my next posting on this subject, we'll look at another aspect of being a Compleat Patriot  / Militaman.

Having taken quite a lot of time out to get you mentally prepared, I'm going to swith gears on you and do something radically different.  We're about to look at the RIGHT way to select your Main Battle Rifle.

Normally, this would be in an arms and ammo forum, but this thread is supposed to cover all the territory AND with only a few months left to make your selections before the New World Order begins outlawing firearms, we're about to do something radically different.  We're about to learn how to properly select your Main Battle Rifle in a way you've probably never been exposed to.

Forget everything you've ever read on discussion boards.  Forget opinions.  This is the way it's really done.

To begin with, you don't go out and shop for the rifle you like.  You have to begin with the NEEDS.  You don't know how many people I've seen who put all their bucks into a single rifle and buy the wrong tool.  For purposes of this thread, we'll presuppose that you are going to buy only one firearm.

Where do you live?  If you live in an apartment or in a densely populated neighborhood in one of those slab houses, the .30 caliber rifle might be your LAST choice.  Suppose it's 3 am and you hear a noise at your front door.  You go to the door with a .30 caliber (M1A, FAL, H&K, M1, etc.) and actually have to use it.  You shoot and hit the intruder, but there is so much power left in the bullet that it exits the person you hit and does damage next door.  Think of it another way:  IF you actually use your weapon, you could wind up in front of a jury.  If you used a 12 gauge shotgun, your actions might be more palatable to a jury than if you used a folding stock, high capacity Mini 14 with a flash suppressor.

You have to think about two things as your primary considerations when buying a firearm:  legal liability IF you have to use it and how you realistically expect to employ your weapon.  So, that means you will have to think ballistics first.  Believe this or not, but the real way to select a weapon is to figure out what bullet you need and then what optics you intend to use.  And then, after those two considerations do you choose a firearm.

If you happen to be a survivalist / citizen soldier, then you may want to think about feeding yourself with your rifle and protecting your life with it.  That means you need a different bullet than the guy living in suburban America and whose primary challenge may be exiting the city when the SHTF.  The person whose battle plan includes leaving town when the situation goes to hell needs a smaller bullet, high capacity magazines and CQB optics.  The citizen soldier who lives on the farm and will stay put and defend his home can consider bigger bullets and longer range optics.

After you've weighed your bullet needs and your optics needs, the next item that comes along is bullet availability.  Do you have a standard round like a NATO round OR something else?  In a SHTF scenario, how will you feed your weapon?  Reload?  Scavenge for ammo in the aftermath of shoot-outs?  Rely on fellow patriots?  Are you going to hoard ammo and if so, how much of it?  How and where will you store it?  And if you run out or your ammo is stolen or left behind should you be forced to flee, where will you find more of it?

Believe this or not, I talk to people every day who refuse to consider these things.  Some of them have a hard time finding ammo in today's market.  Let's look at the AK and SKS family of weapons as an example.

While ammo is plentiful right now, it won't be once the new president is sworn in.  You can find all the 7.62 x 39 you want today at gun shows, Shotgun News, the internet, etc.  But, once the imports stop, that ammo will dry up like gasoline during hurricane season.  And what's out there is steel case, berdan primed... which means NON - reloadable.  If an SKS or AK is your MBR, you'd better have at least 10,000 rounds of ammo in storage.

Well, chew on that for a while and we can finish this thought up next time and move to still another area of being a citizen soldier / patriot.

I'm almost amazed that someone out there isn't railing against what I've written and demanding to know why I think my opinion is the only one that counts.  So, that's almost encouraging.  People are checking out the thread and it's not worthy of getting into a whizzing contest over.  That IS a first on a firearms thread.

Anyway, as a citizen / soldier, your MBR may one day fall into the hands of your fellow militiaman.  You could get shot or otherwise incapacitated and unable to use your rifle.  Worse, you could run out of ammo during a critical firefight.

Some folks are stubborn.  They have called me all manner of names and said that nobody was going to tell them what kind of firearm to own.  Well, when your life and the other guy's life depend upon each other, you have to make some concessions in order to be a viable force in the field.  If / When the American people find themselves up against an armed force, you'd better believe that THEY will have standardized weapons and ammo.  Since, in that scenario, you would be outnumbered... and have substandard weaponry on average, what sense does it make to hog tie yourself to weapons you simply have a love affair with?

If you are shooting a .270 and the other guy a .223 and one of you runs out of ammo, NEITHER of you can cover the other guy's back since you now have two men and one functional weapon.  WHERE is the logic in that?  Further, fumbling around with several calibers in a firefight, trying to figure out, under extreme pressure, which is the .270, .223 or whatever is NOT as easy as you think.

If you have to take over some other guy's weapon or vice versa, would it not be advantageous to know the mechanics of how that weapon worked, what it was capable of, how to take care of it in the field and get it working in cases of a malfunction, jam, etc.?

If you're going to become a citizen / soldier, it comes with a lot of responsibility.  I hope you'll consider that when you look over your survival battery.

While I have basically agreed with this philosophy in the past and still do to a certain extent today I would also like to throw this out there:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoRB3Im3rGo&feature=PlayList&p=3BEE918391D612F7&index=60

I know there are many out there who dislike Mark and have way more knowledge about him than I do I happen to also agree with the info he gives in this portion of the video series. If possible your unit should have multiple weapons platforms to choose from. I know that some people will not have the $$$$ available to accomplish this, but if at all possible it keeps the other side  from being able to shut down or limit your possibilities/availabilities for defense/protection.  Please view the above short video and see if you agree. Like I've said in other posts, when you go to the range pick up brass (any kind) and give it to someone you know that reloads. Someday it may just came back to you in a loaded form that you may need to keep your weapon operational. NO BRASS casings are junk !!!

Phoenix,  Thank you for the posting.  Oddly, when Mark came out with that video (originally on VHS) I was going to do a version from the Militia of Georgia.  The individual doing the filming stood us up on the day that many professionals gathered here and our video never got made.

One thing that did come from talking with Mark before that video came out (and is mentioned on the video) is the CZ52 pistol.  That tough bugger isn't an accurate pistol, but it is relatively reliable, low cost and shoots a bullet that packs a lot of penetrating power.

But, the difference I have in strategy is simply this:

As individuals, you should not feel restricted to any particular weapon and / or class of weapons.  As citizen / soldiers there should be some standardization of calibers and weapons.   In Mark's series, we were going to rebut some of his ideas such as buying as many 75 round AK drums as you could afford.  Granted, you should have a couple of 75 round drums for the effect of a SAW type weapon, but two things you have to remember:

A) IF most of your unit were carrying drums, they could not carry many other magazines.  Should one of the drums get bent or otherwise become inoperable, the militiaman would be in a world of skeet - AND in a worst case scenario, if all you had were a drum mag, you couldn't very well give your partner an extra mag of ammo if he runs out

B)  A true rifleman will spend a LOT of time on his stomach, firing from that position.  Try the 30, 40 and drum type mags on those kinds of shots.  What none of the gurus tell you is that you need maybe TEN (10) magazines  minimum per AK or AR weapon that utilize the 20 round capacity

I'm all for having access to a lot of different calibers and weapon styles, but we must also think in terms of having some common weapons and calibers.  You don't want a hodgepodge of calibers in a SHTF scenario... especially when you have half assed trained people manning the weapons.  It's hard enough telling one caliber from another on the range.  Try the stress of a firefight and that simple task becomes a monumental one - with life threatening risks for being wrong!
