A flight from Houston to Atlanta was interrupted by the pilot who came across the loud speaker. He said:
"Ladies and Gentlemen we have lost one of our engines and are in danger of crashing if we don't get rid of some weight. We've emptied our fuel tanks and have jettisoned the cargo hold. If we are to land safely, some of the passengers will have to jump in order to save the rest of us."
Silence came over the crowd, but in a moment a Frenchman stood up and went to the door. He yelled "Viva la France" and with that, he jumped.
In a few more moments, an Englishman got up and went to the door. He screamed out, "God save the Queen" and proceeded to jump.
After a short period of silence, a Texan arose walked across the aisle, grabbed a Mexican and hurled him out the door. And as he did so, he yelled "And remember the Alamo." |
