The judge ruled alright:

Last week Gilcrhist’s partner, Steve Eichler, had a nearly identical frivolous defamation lawsuit struck down. This week it was Jim Gilcrhist’s turn. The Attorney representing Barbara Coe, Dave Klehm, who filed his fee petition concurrently with his motion, was awarded $9,100 in attorneys’ fees!

Very Happy

Jim Gilchrist was / is a media creation.  I don't mean to pick on Gilchrist, but I think he and the other self proclaimed "Minutemen" (specifically those at the top of the heap) are cognizant of what they are really accomplishing - at least at some level.

Regardless of what happens with Gilchrist, the divisiveness brought to the entire patriot / militia community will be long lasting and won't go away in my life-time.

The entire discussion brings up topics that the kosher conservative right would rather run from; however, since the liberals can ask tough questions, they ultimately DO get answered in the court of public opinion.  For instance, the Atlanta Journal Constitution just summarized the positions of Barack Obama and John McCain on immigration.

While I cannot access the August 4 editorial column, both McCain and Obama are in favor of granting some form of citizenship to the millions of people who entered the United States illegally.  The AJC also notes that Barack Obama supported the militiarization of the border, having voted in favor of the fence around America.

The acceptance of those who entered the U.S. through illegal means is inevitable; however, I was very much opposed to a path to citizenship.  And I oppose the fence around the United States.  The New World Order types like Buttcrack Obama are in favor of creating a militarized zone.  Unfortunately, the "Minutemen" have never wanted us to debate that aspect of the arugment, but needless to say - a fence around the United States will be a major detriment to every freedom loving patriot.

BTW, Getaway Man promised to take me to task on the immigration issue, but then read the Last Illegal Immigration thread and has been AWOL ever since.
