I'm going to say something generic about Wolf ammo.  About seven years ago some friends and I had bad experiences with Wolf in both 7.62 x 39 and 45 ACP.

Wolf had a quality control problem and sometimes we had rounds that didn't have enough powder to propel the bullet out of the barrel.  One guy sent an entire case of 45 ACP back to Wolf over that issue.  They may have gotten their act together, but that was my own experience.

free_clear didn't like Wolf in 7.62 x 39 as he claims the laquer starts running like syrup when it gets hot and it is S.O.B. (and he wasn't saying Swell Old Boy) to clean up.

Next, when you buy ammo, don't get steel cased ammo for an AR type rifle.  It is extremely rough and unforgiving on an action.  Fact is, if you have to choose between steel cases and / or berdan primed ammo OR brass cased, boxer primed ammo ALWAYS stick with the brass cases and boxer primers.  You can reload them, so your brass is priceless.  Steel cases seriously cut down on your weapon's life expectancy.

Hope that little bit helps.

Thanks for the reply Enforcer.I will steer clear of the wolf .223 ammo.I found a decent deal on sportsman's guide for some brass cased ammo from lake city arsenal.$375.00 for 1,000 rounds.I'll just have to save a little while longer.

There's an old thread on the board you need to see.  Here's a link:

I started out shooting the Remington nary a hitch then i ran out and went to the SilverBear..EXCELLENT STUFF NO SWEAT!,then HAD to use WOLF cause that was all i had left and the first 60-rnds were cool but when i needed it the most..it @*&^%$ING JAMMED ON ME SOO BAD i was told to take my weapon off line,i had to borrow ammo from a kind fellow shooter as i stood in utter embarrassment as two old dudes looked at me and said.."youg fella did'nt you know WOLF AMMO ain't no good in AR's?"GRRRRRRR MOTHER#$%@ER!
I spent 2wks cleaning "RED STICKY GOO" out of my chamber.
Would i recommed WOLF AMMO? YES! I RECOMMEND MY ENEMIES USE THE GODDAMN STUFF!

Personally, I love Wolf ammo!  I have shot several thousand rounds through my AK.  I shoot my AK rapid fire style.  I've had the barrel so hot you couldn't even touch it without getting seriously burned.  Still, I had no problems with Wolf ammo.

I bought a Bushmaster A3M4 about 1.5 years ago.  There was a "Preferred Ammo" card in the box from Bushmaster.  Wolf ammo was recommended by Bushmaster.  I have used several hundred rounds of Wolf in my AR with no problems or gumming up.

I have used several thousand rounds of wolf 9mm in my Ruger P95DC and my Tec 9.  I've had the tec 9 so hot you couldn't touch the barrel, also... using Wolf ammo.

I have used several hundred rounds of Wolf .40 in my Glock 23.  I've had no problems what so ever.

In fact, I'd use Wolf over Sellier and Bellot's thin brass any day.
