Most people should know by now that regardless of whether John McCain or King Obama gets into the White House, our gun Rights will be attacked and almost immediately.
The big issue will be the so - called Gun Show Loophole. What exactly is this Gun Show Loophole? In many states, you can go to a gun show and purchase a gun by showing your CCW and filling out a form. Background checks, waiting periods, etc. are circumvented to some degree by the method. So, when you hear the pols talking this trash, what they are saying is that they intend to shut down all gun shows.
In addition, the legislation being put on the table would outlaw the transfer of firearms between individuals. All sales would have to go through dealers. That means that retailers would want a piece of the action in any firearms transaction. That, in effect, will be used as de facto National Gun Registration and it will drive the cost of firearms up through the roof.
As for myself, I've listened to enough of this cow dung about keeping the guns out of the hands of "felons." Wait a minute here. If a person is deemed to be dangerous to own a firearm, what in the Hell are they doing running loose on our streets? If they are a "felon" because they didn't pay taxes, they are just as likely to rape your daughter as they are to kill someone with a firearm... and they were, most likely, released from prison with their penis intact. If they are a "felon" because they did rape or kill someone, the mere fact that we allowed them back on the streets seems to indicate to me that if they do harm someone again, it's OUR fault.
I've had enough of the nonsense. It's time to force the politicians to be accountable on this. That's why I'm supporting Bob Barr for president - unless McCain sees the light of day and renounces his support for unconstitutional gun control bills. Any comments? |
