Good afternoon.

I've been reading the forum silently for a while. I'm interested in the group but I'm not sure if I'd be welcome.

I don't want to put anybody in a box, so tell me if I'm way off here --
most of the militia groups i've run across have had goals of racial separation, religious intolerance (or in my case, intolerance to not having a religion) and have a tendency to get themselves in a lot of shit for stupid reasons (recent ATF busts included).

I don't want to be a part of any of that. What I'm looking for is a group of people who, like myself, see the potential for everything to crumble around us and don't want to sit by and watch it happen. I guess I've always felt closer to the survivalist movement but don't appreciate the selfishness associated with it. Survivalism is about saving yourself. I assume a militia is about saving your country.

I have a family and don't intend to endanger them. I don't want to be a part of anything that unnecessarily risks the life I've built for myself and my family. What I'm looking for is an intelligent, prepared group that will step up if, and only if, the shit hits the fan.

Education, planning and practice are vital -- but action should be reserved as a last resort.

So, where do I stand with this group? Do my values align with yours or should I move along?

Personally, I don’t see an issue although; being a Survivalist myself I don’t see it as being selfish. You have to care for your own 1st and since the Patriot movement has NO logistical support system you have to prepare extra for any unexpected events that may occur. So, yes, I am a Patriot AND a Survivalist. Patriots will need to supply ALL their own supplies so if you haven’t started already you are WAY behind the curve.

As far as unnecessary risks, anytime you put yourself out there, risk is a part of it.

Glad you are here and glad you posted.......Welcome

InfoOps,  The Militia of Georgia has generally been one of the major militias in this country since 1987.  In all that time we've never lost a member to a jail cell nor to a prison for participating in any militia activity.

Still, as Phoenix says, there is an element of risk... then again, I've been at risk as a campaign manager in a state wide election.

Other than that, we are all survivalists if we claim to be militia.  The thing is, we cannot be everything to ourselves.  It takes a survivalist community to be able to truly survive.  We hope that you and your family will become part of our family here and work for a better tomorrow.  You're welcome in any time.

Where can I find more information? I've found several sites claiming to be "Militia of Georgia", yet none of them seem to be official. It doesn't have any pages in Wikipedia nor am I able to track down news articles or books. So far all I've found is this discussion forum. Does the militia have a flag/logo/symbol -- something to distinguish it from others claiming the same name? What is the official website?

Thanks, infoOps.
