Gentlemen & Ladies ( if we have any ) here is a link to a great tool.

http://lds.about.com/library/bl/faq/blcalculator.htm

This is from the LDS website and if ever there was a time for it I believe it's now. These people have lived by this philosophy their whole life and it will  pay great dividends if used properly.

You input the number of adults and children into the calculator and it gives you the amount of food you need to store for a year !!

Grains, Sugars, Fats and Oils, Milk, Legumes, Cooking Essentials & Water.

Even if you only make use of part of it you are WAY AHEAD of the game. If the SHTF for real there are MANY that are NOT even close to being ready for any type of collapse !! Get your families READY !!

In highly populated areas the grocery store will be OUT OF FOOD in 2 hours or less !!! If you don't read anything else the last sentence is the most important !!

Not a problem bud. It's all about getting us through the other side. If you have a basement or someplace cool get you some 2x4's and some sturdy plywood and make some shelves to store it on. I personally use some latch lid type containers from wally world to store stuff in. I can see through it and find stuff faster.

ALSO, and I should have bought one sooner, I HIGHLY recommend getting a vacuum sealer ( Food Saver brand) ( or equivalent ) and seal up your sugar, salt , rice, pasta, etc. Vacuum sealing extends the life by a factor of 5.

Hint: with the right plastic it makes great battle packs  Wink  Wink
