Some quick thoughts on preparedness:
1: reliable firestarters, take your empty egg cartons and fill each "nest" with the lint from your dryer screen. apply wax via a lit candle to each one, in no time you'll have several no fail firestarters for emergency use.
2: how well do you really know the distances on the way to your house? put up markers if your driveway has a clear line of sight every 50 yards/meters. so that you know exactly how far away anyone is when they are approaching your domicile.
3: learn how to use shortwave/ham radio. have a backup power source available for the use of said shortwave/ham radio. also a hand cranked fm/am emergency radio. knowledge = power
4: teach your family and yourself (if need be) land navigation with a basic compass and map. gps will do you no good if the powers that be decides to flip the switch and render all non military gps obsolete
On the "macho" types that boast of their eagerness for said war:
That'll more than likely change once someone they actually know well gets shot for the first time.
Then it'll be a little more real to them and maybe they'll take it a little more seriously. Watching your country disintegrate around you isn't something to wish for or get excited about. Real people are gonna get hurt if things keep getting bad, some of them might be someone you know and care about. I'm doing my best to prepare for the possibility that things are going to go south in the US in a major way, but I'm certainly not giddy and I'm not wishing for something to happen.
I've seen what bullets can do when they hit someone, everytime one of those guys talk about how excited they are and how they wish that 'something would happen' just remember that there's a good chance that someone you know could be killed or severely injured as a result. It could be your wife or daughter that's gotten shot and who's bleeding out just inside your doorway, not just some random person in the paper or on the news.
Besides, maybe something good will come from the ashes if things do kick off in a major way, but I wouldn't bet on it. In fact they could get alot worse. After WWI and the Russian Revolution the Russian People thought that things would be better once the Bolsheviks overthrew the Czar, they ended up with something that made the times under the Czar seem idyllic in comparison.
On the need to be prepared, NOW:
Food and gasoline will quickly become the motivating factor of all sides in any uprising. I fear that a total economic collapse will be the initial cause. Racial lines will quickly be drawn as grocery stores close or run out of goods and bands of roving thugs look to take advantage of weaker citizens.
A few months back, we had a very bad wind storm. (It was a remnant of a gulf hurricane, which rarely reach this far north.) The wind knocked out all electrical power in a huge area (several states) for several days. It took less than 24 hours for the large grocery stores to run out of most food. Meat, milk and bread were no where to be found. Without electrical power, none of the computer systems in the stores worked. Only one clerk was attempting to make change out of the only open cash drawer. There were no lights on inside the store and the staff had roped off darker areas. The "just in time" inventory system showed it's dangerous flaws very quickly as most shelves were emptied. Power was restored to the local store within 72 hours, but it took several more days before everything was back to normal. All of the gas stations were closed and there was no fuel to be found. No power = no pumps. No power = No ATM machines. No banks were open to get money.... if you could find a place to spend it.
This one example is just from a wind storm. I learned that things to hell very quickly if there is any hiccup in the system. An economic meltdown is a very real possibility in this country in the coming months. I think it could produce problems similar to what I saw in the blackout. Only these problems won't go away in a week. Everyone talks about weapons... and weapons may be needed, but food and fuel will be needed first. Keep that in mind when making any survival plans.
Finally, some "battle plans" in case it does come down to a battle for your lives:
Take out not only the leaders, but the best potential leaders.
Destroy any news and communication apparatus that will keep them too well informed on the situation.
Destroy any moral support that will rally them all to one cause, then use propaganda to demoralize them.
Poison their environment(rivers, water supplies, food sources, et al.) to prevent healthy reproduction, or cause medical problems and drain their resources.
When you take over prisons, make prisoners who are on your side execute all of their fellow prisoners who are of the enemy population or follow an enemy's ideology. Then use the "liberated" prisoners as executioners and soldiers, but keep them on a tight leash.
When battling superstitious or religious enemies, use their superstitions against them. For example, if fighting Africans who believe in witchcraft, set up psy-ops units to invoke gods against them, cast curses, carry out ritual killings and threats, etc. Hire traitors within the enemy's ranks to make false predictions and moral pronouncements.
Create fake news stories for television portraying psy-ops troops as some kind of mythical super soldiers when appropriate, at other times portray elite units as ill disciplined, untrained militiamen. Also create misinformation about your location, plans, numbers and armament.
False news is best when you can trick real news media into repeating it, which is easy if you know anything about how MSM operate.
Bring war cameramen and reporters in behind your armies to record the atrocities of your enemy, then use it to gain popular support, or to demoralize your enemy. Do the same thing by putting captured enemy leaders and officers on trial for war crimes and executing them, which also accomplishes the objective of killing the leaders.
Bring viking raids back into style:
Attack and loot their cities and supply points from your strongholds among the majority white rural areas of the country, but don't stick around longer than it takes to steal what's not nailed down and burn the rest.
Don't forget to portray the cities as hotbeds of drug dealers, gang rape squads, enemy militants, gay bars, and Democrats. Then people won't get too upset when you burn them down. |
