Game 1
Whyalla meeting defending champions Eastern Eyre. Whyalla came to play, and were fast out of the centre to an efficient forward line. A series of early goals had Eastern Eyre rattled, with a six goal to one first half. Whyalla were using the first disposal option, and running to space, where Eastern Eyre were constantly under pressure. A stern discussion by Eastern Eyre coach Peter Haskett at half time saw a better drilled outfit return for the second half. Whyalla still played good hard running football, however Eastern Eyre were able to match them for the half. In the end Whyalla recorded a relatively comfortable 38 point win, and set up their carnival championship chance. Better players for Whyalla included Ben Butler, Dwayne Colson, Aaron Kwaterski, whilst for Eastern Eyre, Cody Mason, Brad Masters and Ben Lienert.
Game Six
Whyalla v Lincoln Districts, in a game which promised much in that they both had dominant first games, and match up well. Whyalla had all the early possession, and threatened to go out to an unassailable lead. They were winning the ball across the centre and applying great pressure on the opposition ball carrier causing mistakes. A sixteen point half time lead looked comfortable for Whyalla, and they were playing the better football at that stage. After the half break, it was Lincoln Districts who returned full of run, moving the ball across lines and leading Whyalla to the ball. If not for some wayward kicking, they may well have sown the game up earlier. A grand final spot at stake, sides attacked and every contest was desperate. In the end the final siren sounded with Lincoln Districts pressing forward, the scores were tied. Given their huge win in the first round, Lincoln Districts were to qualify for the grand final, however Whyalla can be justifiably pleased with their efforts, against good opposition in both games. Better players for Districts were Max Anderson, Ky Miller and Sunny Singh, whilst for Whyalla, Dwayne Colson, Aaron Kwaterski, Kody Patterson.
