Lately I've been very intrigued with Jacques Wiener and his series of European Cathedral Medals. My first one came in today and I have six more arriving (:D) anyday. Well, today I was able to play around with the camera and get some pics that I am semi-happy with. Well, here is a quick SM template and a closeup of some of the detail on the medal. Ohh, it may help to tell which medal this is -- the Catedral de Cordoba -- and it appears to be a very late die state with two cuds, one on the obverse (at 9 oclock on the rim) and one on the reverse (to the right of the center column, do cuds occur in the center of a die like this?).
(Uggghhhh! I hate how this forum cuts off the pic!

)

This picture also shows the true color of the medal better.

P.S. The relief on this thing is unbelievable. I had a raw morgan next to this medal and the relief in some areas was thicker than the morgan dollar!
